The best part of being a teacher is changing the lives of our youth….ANNNNNDDD having summers off! I love being able to camp or do ay activity during the week when its not so busy. We had a friend call and ask if we were busy during the week in June…and we weren’t so we headed out to San Onofre state beach and campground.
I was pretty nervous about it was our first time ever “dry camping” (no hook-ups for the trailer). I know there are you people out there telling me to get a grip…I still had water from our tank, a toilet, bed, etc. BUT for me, no hook-ups is ROUGHING it! haha We purchased a trailer because I don’t like to rough it! And I guess I probably don’t like doing it because I don’t really know how to BUT I thought 2 nights couldn’t be THAT bad…
I LOVED the view BUT you had to hike to get to see it. Our sites were kinda barracked in. The kids LOVED the dirt barrack-type things…Ella and Rhett won dirtiest children EVER!!
The first evening we headed down to Old Man’s Beach…it was a beautiful evening!!
The kids played, Maggie watched and struggled with the concept that she just can’t do what they do…yet!
Before sunset we headed back to get dinner and dessert done.
Great sleep…and then up nice and early for some washers, breakfast, and coloring before heading back out to the beach.
We opted for heading to San Clemente State Beach…and it was another GREAT day!
Getting 8 kids to look at the camera is nothing short of a miracle…and we did it baby!! Woot Woot.
Only problem with beach days is the fact that Maggie won’t nap or nurse while out…shes FAR too nosy for all that! But she was asleep (suppose to be for the night at 5:50pm…she was up at 8pm for a few more hours before going back to bed!)
San O you were good to us! Don’t know if I’ll be back BUT it was a GREAT trip. We love the Parkers and the Manleys. Thanks for setting it all up Josh!
