10 months

I can’t believe our little lady turned 10 months old today…its seriously FLYING by!!!

We did our little photo sesh…and I think I finally got a hang of it (with the help of the hubs!) to get her to pose for all 4 pictures…and usually shes not “over it” until the very last one when I try and make her lay down.

No tears…but she does try and kill herself and jump off stuff now…

Daddy caught her mid-jump! lol

Trying to get this crazy little girl to sit still is freaking hard…
3 teeth (2 on bottom and 1 fang up top) doesnt stop this one from getting her grub on! Her favorites are steak, eggs, Gerber lil crunchies, yogurt covered blueberries, sour candy (yes daddy gave her a taste!). I love her spunky personality…I can already tell shes gonna be a handful. Shes so social and an all around happy camper! I can’t wait for her to actually sleep through the night..hoping that happens…soon! haha

Of course seeing her grow makes me think about Owen at this age. My memory is SO bad from that time of his life, makes me sad…I was finishing chemo and life was hard!
I was looking back at pics of Owen at 10 months old…made me sad! And made me realize that he was this age when I started this blog…I’m so dumb to not have started one sooner…since the brain is so foggy from back then! Oh well…woulda, shoulda, coulda…too late now!

DSC_0233DSC_0232  DSC_0234 He had 6 teeth…a good few more pounds than she does! I think developmentally they were about the same, pulling themselves up, crawling like crazy, babbling for days (with a few simple words, mama, dada, baba)….and they both had an Orange nose! (darn those orange colored baby foods!) Funny enough most pics of Owen from 10 months he had his hands over his head….showing us how big he was! haha

Ella doesn’t do “How big is Ella?? Soooooo big” on command as well as her brother did…haha She’ll get it soon enough.

10 months is a fun age…and this time around I know what’s in store…and I can’t wait…I mean I can wait, I don’t want to rush her along but there are great times to be had!!

Owen loves to help take care of his sis…he makes us proud EVERYDAY! And today I have realized I am NOT taking enough pictures of the two of them together! ((Note to self…get them together in pictures more often!))

Thanksgiving 2013

Oh Turkey Day oh Turkey Day…

IMG_7709

IMG_0118 After last years emotional Thanksgiving…when I was crying thinking about my parents being gone and living in Ireland…give me a break I was a sensitive prego lady but last year was meant to be our last holiday together in that house. The chat of my parents retiring and moving away was real…I was scared. But (thankfully) because of all kinds of different little situations their final move date has been pushed back and pushed back…and now they will be keeping our home house here in Cali while still building the little home of their dreams in Ireland. Being able to live in both places 50/50! I’m one very pleased young lady!

So another Thanksgiving…another quiet Thanksgiving with our little immediate family. I’m envious of my friends with big fun families…but then again I’m so thankful for what I DO have! We aren’t exactly the game playing, joke telling kinda family…we are more of the relaxing, eating and maybe watching some football kinda family. And thats ok…but hopefully with our kids getting older we can become THAT family. I wanna laugh, play games, hang out…maybe even eat 2 meals…haha. Someday!

I cooked a turkey…ok well Mom cooked the turkey and I just assisted her! And I have to say…it was a damn good turkey this year!

My little lady ate herself a GOOD first thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, mashed potatoes, corn…but surprisingly she wasn’t a fan of the turkey…think shes more of a red meat kinda gal! lol Owen on the other hand…he had a roll, handful of turkey, bbq chips, yogurt covered raisins (my little picky dude)

I’m thankful for my husband…he puts up with all of me (I’ve got some baggage)…and even did the dishes after dinner! Thankful for my kids…they make me whole! My parents…best support team anyone could ever ask for…and my in-laws…my second set of parents, have always loved me like a daughter!!

And it wouldn’t be a GREAT Thanksgiving without some Black Friday shopping…wootwoot. Wonderful early night! No lines, got some deals, and had fun!!! We went out at 10pm, missed the crazy “store-openers” and was still able to get stuff we “needed”.

growing up….”ohfuck”

Tonight I wanted to write about something that I’m not exactly proud of BUT I don’t want to forget about it in years to come!
I’ve been having some conflicting emotions about blogging lately…why do I write? What benefit is it to put our lives out there on the web…with some strangers reading about our family and our everyday lives?!? Yeah well thats a long story..maybe we’ll get to that another time. BUT I realized I use this blog to look back on, help my dieing memory and I’m sure its something we’ll use forever!

So we all know that I don’t exactly have the most lady-like mouth…I have been known to use bad language from time to time (I got the “Mother-Trucker” paper plate aware on my college water polo team) BUT since having kids I’m pretty good about not cussing in front of them! I’m definitely not perfect BUT not like I used to be forsure. YOSH on the other hand…yeah I think he forgets what age Owen is at (which is the I’m listening all the time, even when you think I can’t hear you phase!).  So the other day my little man dropped a toy and says “ohfuck”.  Since I wasn’t sure if I heard him correctly I had him repeat it…he says “oh I mean Oh foowie, like Donald Duck says”.  I knew that wasn’t what he said so I finally got it out of him that he said “fuck”  but when he said it, it was one word “ohfuck” not “oh fuck”. Sounded so funny!! I could not help but laugh. I know parenting 101 don’t laugh at bad language but it was SO darn funny to hear him say that. But I told him it was bad…even for adults to say it blah blah blah.

Long story short…he said it again…actually 2 more times…and the last time I sent him to time-out (which always makes him cry)…I warned him if he spoke like that in kindergarten next year they would send him to the principal’s office and kick him out of school! Luckily that was all it took….haven’t heard it again since! I know this is just the first of all this kinda stuff but man its so funny but not funny at the same time. Daddy and Mommy are both VERY aware of how we speak now!!!

He’s growing up…its crazy to think he’ll be IN SCHOOL this time next year…learning all kinds of bad habits from other kids (haha because he would NEVER learn it from here at home! haha). And I recently pulled the trigger and cut those curls off!! I loved the shaggy surfer look all summer…but I was over it. He’s been so sick so much the past few months I’m hoping that maybe all the bad yucky germs will stay away since he has less hair now! ;)  So strep throat please stay away…or our little man might have to have those tonsils removed! THAT wouldnt’ make for a good xmas

Camping…

Camping….ok maybe it was more along the lines of Glamping BUT to us it was as good as camping!

IMG_7662

We rented a little mini cabin at Rancho Jurupa Regional Park…dead in the center of the ghetto…I mean Riverside. lol  Since a few of our friends now own trailers, and we are NOT gonna be getting one, this place was perfect. We were able to join the party (and invite our non-trailer owning friends too).

Here is our cabin. It comes with basic linens, towels, and pretty much everything you’d need. I brought our own pillows and comforters since I wasn’t exactly sure what would be there for us. It was very cute but perfect for the 4 of us!

cabin The park has tons of stuff to do…mini golf, water splash play area, playgrounds, lakes for fishing, etc. It was super hot this weekend BUT the water park was closed since it was off season. But we kept ourselves busy~

We all arrived at different times on Friday night, so we ate dinner and then hung by the bonfire…which can be stressful with so many kids (and 2 dogs that did NOT like eachother!), most being under 5years old.

 IMG_9641 IMG_9651 IMG_9654  IMG_9658IMG_9659 IMG_9660

Late night but that didn’t stop our mini alarm clocks (aka our children!) Owen was SO excited to go fishing. So 7am when the park allows…Owen was out there with Travis…getting his trout fishing on~

IMG_9670 IMG_9673 IMG_9677 He’s a patient little guy that just LOVES fishing! I think even Travis was surprised on how in to it Owen was. Maybe he’s found his sport!?!?

The weather was actually HOT…so we didn’t stay out at the lake with Ella for long.

Amazingly even though we were in a strange place, Ella still stuck to her schedule. Thank goodness she napped and did the usual!

IMG_9693IMG_9707

Then we had a little Mommy Daughter Photo sesh.

IMG_7666 IMG_7668    IMG_7675 IMG_7685 IMG_7689   IMG_9712

Great time relaxing with our friemly (friends that are like family), making memories, and loving every minute of it.

Woke bright and early the next morning to clean the cabin and head home!! Kids were racing and playing at 7am….yes 7am!! Heather was out watching big kids while I put Ella down for her morning nap…in her pack-in-play ON top of our bed (we had to sweep and clean while she slept!!) So whatever works.

IMG_9713 IMG_9715

Best part of this camping trip was that it was only 25 minutes away from out house. Was nice to get home quick…AND even better that we didn’t have work today either! AMAZING.

We’ll be back Rancho Jurupa Park…we’ll be back!!
