Today was a surreal day…many might have thought it was just another family day at Sea World but it meant so much more to me.
6 months ago today it was my parents wedding anniversary, my cousin Alan’s birthday but this is what I was doing…
Yes…that's me…kicking the sh*t out of cancer during my last chemotherapy treatment.
Lets be real…I looked like HELL, not a brow, lash, hair anywhere…FELT like HELL but at least I didn’t realize it then.
And this is me today…
I was lucky enough to not be worrying about cancer, to be feeling wonderful (ok maybe just a bit sunburned) and have the ability to spend the whole day with 2 of the most important people in my life! MUCH better than having to sit in Kaiser and wait for my ABVD chemo to finish to only go home and feel like crap!
Yesterday we headed down to San Diego (after a few hang-ups that took us a bit longer to get going) to the Wild Animal Park. I drove to the San Diego Zoo to only realize that we actually passed the Wild Animal Park when driving through Escondido…sooo it took us almost 3 hours to get to a place that should have taken us 1.5 hours. We ate at Taco Bell before entering into the park, only to figure out that my lovely son went #2 and Taco Bell didn’t have a changing table in the bathroom….THEN we figured out I had left my wallet at home….ohhhhh it was just ONE OF THOSE DAYS. But we didn’t let it stop us from having a wonderful time.

| Owen got to pet and kiss Deer in a petting zoo | And get up close and personal with a sleeping lion |
We ended a long day walking those rolling hills at the Wild Animal Park with some fun at the hotel pool with Dada…the weather wasn’t to warm at 5pm BUT Owen still loved the slide and the pool.
Then today our wonderful friends, Heather, Matt and Ryland Cilderman met us for some fun at Sea World. Was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed ourselves.
We met all the Sesame Street people…Ryry was in heaven but Owen wasn’t quite sure about them!
Owen got to touch a Bat Ray…and Owen and Ryry spent some time watching Dolphins swim.
All in all it was an amazing 2 days in San Diego…was a wonderful way to celebrate my health with people I love. (While Mom and Dad were home babysitting our other “children” Ando and Clare…thanks Mom!)
