Matt’s Wrestling Party

Last year for Matty’s big 4-0 we went on a Carnival cruise to Ensenada. This year he had an adult only get together at his house. It was GREAT.  Most of us don’t get to hang out together without our children anymore…so it was an fun night!

It was fun to meet Matt & Heathers new Yorba Linda friends too…

Birthday boy…

And I have no clue HOW or WHAT started the wrestling but that lasted a good hour and I’m SHOCKED that no one ended up in the pool. Wasn’t for not trying though. I haven’t laughed that hard in a LONG time.

We ubered there, halfway ubered home…but the next morning my abs were sore from laughing so hard, I had bruises from wrestling and I might have been a bit hungover. haha  But it was a GREAT night! Sometimes adult only time to act like teenagers is the best!

Thanksgiving

As stated before, our Thanksgiving was giving up WARM weather…like summer warm!  Everyone was craving fall…wanting to wear jeans, boots, jackets, scarves….yeah wasn’t happening.  Only in California can you have a swim party before your turkey dinner!!

So before the clothes come off and bathing suits go on…we tried for a family picture…in Aunt Missy’s driveway!

These 2 ladies made a GREAT dinner…and were doing all the prepping..while I sat out back and did my “prepping” haha  My niece is a grown freaking woman these days. I look at her and it amazes me that she’s grown so fast and isn’t the little 3 year old I met many years ago!!!  This is Missy and Peyton the first summer I met them…look at little Peyton…she was a baby…

And now..taller than her mama…and still by her side!! I love their relationship!

I did my “prepping”. haha Let the boys bring the kids swimming while I sat back and relaxed.

After the swimming we hung out. I love how this family can chill, watch either the Dog Show (peytons favorite) or basketball (yosh’s favorite).  And my kids are happy campers because Bailey and Peyton bring out the boxes of their old kiddie toys!

Maggie was a little obsessed with the new doggy, Gracie. Shes a BIG puppy…beautiful Labordoodle but wasn’t so sure about the miniature person (maggie)

And the toy mess starts….or should I say continues!

And my SIL and BIL are the type that full decorate for Xmas like the day after Halloween! haha they LOVE xmas.  WHICH btw puts the pressure on us because now my kids are old enough and are like “wait…why don’t WE have a xmas tree yet”….dang it! haha

My girls got new dresses for the day. Have you heard of DotDot Smile?  OMG they are twirly dresses for little ones and are SO adorable! They twirl real big, are super comfy and very affordable! 

I couldn’t keep the girls sitting down all day…they were spinning and spinning.  Great, but I was scared someone’s xmas tree would get knocked over! haha

Dinner was DELICIOUS!!!  Missy always makes the best spread.  We were missing my parents, who were in Ireland for this Thanksgiving and ESPECIALLY our Papa.  Last THanksgiving he was in the hospital, not doing too great…and this year he wasn’t suffering or in pain or anything but we still really miss him!

Mags was tired after all the food…and found herself the perfect “bed” to relax in! TJ wasn’t impressed that a little human was taking his bed though. haha

Full and Chillin’…Another GREAT Turkey Day!  Now…get home and in bed kids…Mama has Black Friday shopping to get done!!

Oak Glen

This year during our Thanksgiving break we had some very unusually warm weather!  It was beautiful but totally made it NOT feel like Fall at all!!.  We relaxed a lot of that week but decided to check out Oak Glen.  It was perfect. Warm. Not crowded. Perfect.

Last time (and my first time) visiting Oak Glen was many many years ago…2011…we came with our group of friends…Owen was so small!

Getting to walk around the petting zoo with NO OTHER people around was pretty cool. My kids got the real experience of feeding animals.

We fell in LOVE with these baby piglets. OMG they were so adorable! Many people know but I grew up with a pet pig named Wilbur. Pigs are amazing pets, smart, clean and so loveable. 

Some of the goats were a little aggressive about the feed.  Even eating the kids clothes when they wouldn’t pay attention to them. Ella was a bit freaked out.

We found the red barn that we took a family picture in front of 6 years prior. When I had a broken foot and curly short hair, Owen was an only child, life was different.  Fast Forward and thank GOD no one had any broken bones. I was back to short hair, Owen is NOT the only child…life is AMAZINGLY HECTIC and I wouldn’t change a thing about it!
