Back at the end of November 2015 I got wind that one of our all time favorite bands, The Used, was going to be in concert in 2016. I started doing some research and saw they were doing an Anniversary Tour, where they were doing 2 nights back to back playing their first two albums.
I was SO excited. I bought VIP tickets for Yosh for his X-mas present. We are TOO old to be going to a punk rock concert like this BUT I felt justified if we were UP in seats, away from the craziness. Best decision EVER! The show was at Club Nokia in LA Live. The VIP seats put us on our own floor, with our own bar and bathrooms…it was AMAZING.
I first started listening to The Used in June 2002. One of the best summers of my life…when Brenda and I lived life to its fullest. So of course I called Brenda and told her to get tickets too. It was a SUPER fun date night!! Dinner at Rockin’ Fish first…then into the show.

And our seats were perfect too! We danced, jumped, and sang our hearts out!!
And the end of the night was awesome too…LOVE bumping into former students/polo players when they are all grown-up doing the adult thang!! Really great after you have had A LOT to drink…oops.
When I purchased these tickets I was nervous because of a babysitter. If Mom was out of the country we would have to find someone….and THANKFULLY my sister-in-law and niece watched the kids. The kids LOVE having their aunt watch them…they have asked me everyday since when Aunt Missy is babysitting again.
(Which she probably NEVER wants to babysit again…since Owen ended up puking all over my couch that night…and Aunt Missy doesn’t do puke…I felt so bad!!)
Either way…it was a great night. Had a lot of fun and brought back a lot of memories!!
The Used is the start of our Love story. Yosh and I had been dating a few months when we went to our first Used concert. I was still in college playing polo…and was a bit aggressive by nature (since then I think I have really grown out of that!). After a game one weekend my friend Liz braided my hair into 2 french braids and away we went to San Diego. That show changed our relationship. There were girls on the outside of the pit that kept hitting and kicking people. One of them punched Yosh in the back for now reason…his first reaction was to grab her and go into the pit…which left me there alone with the other girl. That wasn’t good because it ended with me getting into an altercation (no girl punches my man!). haha Yosh tells people that was the day he knew he was going to marry me…a chick that would beat up another girl for him! hahaha Oh dear.
