When I was home on maternity leave with ‘Baby Bob’…I brought Ella to a Mommy & Me gymnastics class (at the same place Owen did gymnastics for a year).
Ella absolutely LOVED going to these classes. It was fun to keep us busy in the mornings when we were awaiting Baby Bob’s arrival! But then we had a newborn so I wasn’t able to do a Mommy & Me anymore.
So I made a deal with her…once she was able to go peepee & poo on the potty she could do big girl gymnastics.
In January, right before her 3rd birthday we potty trained her…and she reminded me daily that it was her turn to do gymnastics. Well I’m a bad mom and it only took me SIX months to get my sh*t together and enroll her into her own gymnastics class!
And big brother re-enrolled as well…well at least for summer it’ll keep him busy.
Owen is now in a ‘boys academy’ class…which he isn’t fond of. He says the boys mess around too much and don’t listen to the teacher. And you know Owen…he’s a rule follower..so that doesn’t work for him. But we’ll stick with it until Fall Baseball starts!
Ella on the other hand LOVES it…and asks everyday if its Monday and gymnastics day!
They re-enrolled right before quarterly skill review…so they got participation ribbons and Ella was PUMPED! I will have to admit though…seeing her run up to receive it in front of everyone was pretty damn cute. She’s so tiny and acts like she owns the place. I love her and her confidence!
