Angel Game

On Sunday our friends Taryn and Kris offered to bring us to the Angel vs. Yankee game (they have a family season pack thing and had 2 extra tix) So of course we said HECK YES we’d love to go! They were bringing their 8.5 month old daughter Addison, so we thought it would be a good time to try and bring Owen again. (His first Angel game experience was a disaster b/c he was only 5 months old and terrified every time the crowd started cheering!)  So had to get Owen an Angel shirt to match his cute Angels hat he got from the Paul’s for his birthday…and just so happened it matches Daddy’s shirt!

So as Yosh  and I sat there watching the Angels play the Yankee’s here in California we started remising about when we were in New York in August 2008 visiting Missy, Chris and the kids on vacation and got lucky enough to catch the Angels at Yankee stadium. I was so so so sick, had the worst bladder infection in the world. We actually asked a Yankee fan to take a picture of us and they were so nice to us! (Not as rude as the CA Yankee fans!)

And tell me…what is in this picture that you can’t see….

heehee…a lil Baby Owen was in my belly and we didn’t even know yet! I took the pregnancy test about a week after the game while still in NY on vacation at my sister-in-laws! Ü

So now we see the  Angels vs. Yankees again and our family picture is a little different!

I’m glad Owen got to experience another Angel game…and I’m sure he’ll get to see LOTS more in his future!! Go Angels

ps. We beat the Yankees both times we saw them face off! Ü

Owen’s First Birthday Party!!

At the end of March I started thinking about our little man’s 1st birthday party (mistake #1 since his actual birthday is at the beginning of April!). John was slaving away in our backyard with our friend Kris to try and get it prepared for a party. But with all the rainy weekends we had in Feb and March they were not able to finish the backyard in time for a party (mistake #2 waiting on them to finish the backyard). So I decided LAST minute to stop waiting for the backyard and to get Owen’s party planned!!! I rented a shelter at a nearby park and rush ordered his invites (next year I’ll do this in a MUCH more timely fashion), ordered 2 party burritos from Rosa Maria’s and party city was my spot for a few days for some party must-haves. 

Then of course…it started raining the week of his party…I thought FORSURE we were going to be doomed with bad weather BUT it turned out to be SUCH a wonderful day. My chemo-brain got the best of me…forgetting to bring things or invite special people but I am beginning to learn how to live with this memory problem, until I see Dr. Chan in May to help me figure this out!!!

His decorated high-chair was cute until he got his hands on it ripping everything off, 1st piñata stuffed w/ yummy candy and toys, Awesome pretzels that Daddy made, Owen’s memory picture frame was adorable and of course the cake/cupcake mix!

Piñata time was awesome…all the kids got to hit it (or at least try to hit it) Here are the kiddos wackin’ that thang!

We had a balloon toss for kids…and then another for adults, which got pretty interesting because the adults were worse than the kids and throwing water balloons at each other!

Ohhhh cake time…Owen isn’t a fan of trying new things, loud noises, etc. So I knew cake time was going to be a disaster (which exactly what it was)

This is the only good picture I have of Owen and his cake…RIGHT after I set it down on his high-chair tray he knocked the whole cake on the floor while everyone was singing Happy Birthday to him!

Then Daddy tried to get him to eat some of the cake that didn’t hit the ground, which resulted in this…

We finished the party, cleaned up and went home with an EXHAUSTED child. After his nap we opened presents and this kid is SPOILED rotten…he got so much really cool stuff. Thanks to all our friends and family who love our little guy so much!!

Laughlin Trip April 2010

My WONDERFUL in-laws own a house boat docked at Katherine’s Landing on Lake Mojave. Its been awesome being able to use it whenever we’d like for the past 7.5 years.  We brought Owen out last July and August (when he was 3-4 months old). He loved it but was kinda small to really enjoy it. THIS trip was a different story…the kid is absolutely 100% river rat. We could not keep him out of the 58 degree water…he loved it too much!

His new thing on this trip was every time he saw a camera (or anything that looked like a camera ie, phone, ipod, etc.) he’d say “Chheeesssseeee” It was adorable!! He’s not a HAM or anything!

Mommy had to keep a rashguard on most of the time b/c the radiologist said too much sun could cause a Radiation Recall (I’m not sure what that is…but DO NOT want to find out)

We tried getting a group shot…Owen is kinda hidden, but this was the crew. The Harp’s, the Manley’s, the Rowe’s, the Cilderman’s and us. Was so much fun!!

Grandpa would be proud…little Owen can drive the boat as good a he can! Ü

Easter and Owen’s First Birthday

Oh my Gosh…I can’t believe my little baby is now ONE year old. He went from baby to TODDLER…I don’t know why that makes me so sad but all week I have been a bit depressed to think that my baby is “old” now!! I know I’ll get over it! haha

Saturday we went to an Easter Egg Hunt w/ the Cildermans and the Harps. Was a lot of funny, but can’t wait for next year when Owen can walk!

Saturday we had a lot of cleaning and getting ready around the house for our guests on Sunday. But Owen and I went to Edward’s (from BSB) First Birthday Party…was so cool. Owen just wanted to crawl around the whole party while Edward was walking circles around him. (Owen and Edward were born on the same day!)

Easter Sunday was awesome. Owen got his goodies from the Easter Bunny and got to open birthday presents all in the same day. Here are some of the cute pics of the day!

The day was so bitter sweet..great time with wonderful family but sad to realize how quick the year goes.

My Little Man has gotten so big. And I didn’t realize until now that I dressed him in VERY similar outfits both years! haha
