My parents…or should I say my Father, had this WEIRD hair up his butt…and wanted to bring my kids to Disneyland. I don’t think my dad has been to Disneyland in almost 20 years. He has MAJOR back and neck issues so walking and standing for long periods of time is very hard on him. But he wanted to go! I was shocked but happy. So my parents surprised my big kids and brought them to Disneyland. And luckily for our amazing friends who work at Disneyland I was able to get off work early, pick up Maggie and bring her down there for her first visit on the eve of her 2nd birthday!!

I think the fact that we showed up, actually helped my parents house. My kids are at such different ages and different likes when its comes to rides. Owen is getting older and likes the fast rides, whereas Ella is still terrified of all that! So I was able to help my parents…we took turns bringing different kids to different rides and things.

Jungle Cruise with the little girls while Grandad brought Owen on Indiana Jones.

Then we waited FOREVER to see Moana. But it was worth it. The girls LOVED her. Only got rough when my 4.5 year old was the one begging to be held…dear lord.

While the boys sat and waited. Owen had zero interest in meeting Moana..or any characters for that matter.

Bathroom/Diaper breaks…meant we HAD to get churros. My favorite part of Disneyland!

Before the sun went down we did our castle pic. My dad HATES pictures…and he hates that I take so many BUT I know someday he’ll appreciate seeing them.

I got to bring Owen on Big Thunder Mountain…he was so fun to watch him. He LOVED it!!!!

And while we did Big Thunder, my parents brought the little girls to the carousal.

And even caught this cutest thing…Dad giving Maggie kisses…makes my heart happy!

Then got on one of my favs…which happens to be the girls fav but daddy HATES…so Its A Small World it was.

I loved turning around and seeing my parents with my kids. It was weird. I haven’t been in Disneyland with my parents in a LONG time. Like 20 years or longer. It was bringing back memories of me and my brother and the excitement of the days when my parents would surprise us with a trip to Disneyland. And now all these years later I can see the same excitement on their faces for MY kids. So weird but so amazing.

Pics Mom took and sent to me later. Needless to say my children had a blast!!!! OMG. And then the traditional “souvenir shopping”…my Dad loves being able to get the kids something. My spoiled kids took forever finding something but in the end they found stuff. And were so happy!!

They were happy until the park closed and we had to go home…without Nana and Grandad. They parked in one parking lot and I parked in another. So we went different directions and my kids were PISSED!!!

Full melt down modes for 2 of them…and I had to get to the shuttle, load the kids, collapse my stroller. Then unload, reassemble the stroller, all by myself. And I’m pretty proud to say that Owen helped and I felt like a badass mother and did it all by myself. Yes strangers were looking at me like I was crazy BUT Boom!
Disneyland with my parents was a memorable day. My kids are already asking when they can go back!! haha
