Pumpkins, Costumes & Parties…

Halloween activities are in full swing this weekend.  We took a trip to our local pumpkin patch one day after work last week. I saw there was a sign for a petting zoo…so I thought Owen would totally love it. And he did…but it was the lamest petting zoo ever! 4 goats (2 of whom were trying to make a baby the whole time eww), 2 bunny rabbits and 5 chickens w/ feathery feet! Not much of a “zoo”…but Owen was still entertained!

The goat liked Yosh….lol Thankfully it wasn’t one of the “baby-makin’ goats” haha

We searched for the biggest pumpkin (NOT to buy…but just to look at of course NO WAY was I spending a ton of money for a darn pumpkin No Thanks!), SO we searched for big ones and little ones.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It was a fun quick little trip…getting us in the Halloween spirit…kinda! I love pumpkin patches…even if they are a rip off…$3 to pet a goat, $3 for a bouncy house…and of course Owen HAD to have a baby pumpkin to bring home. haha Memories right?!? And you like Owen’s new little “smile”…with his little bucked teeth sticking out?!? haha

And last night we attended the Parker’s Family Halloween party!! I love costume parties. I don’t understand why people WOULDN’T like getting dressed up! I find it so fun…sometimes its annoying to think of something cute but once the idea is there I love it!  We went as the …

Its so fun to be able to get together with friends!!! Many many years ago the Parker’s had a costume party (back in 2007), life was just so much different!!! One thing is forsure…there are WAY more kids running around these days compared to back then!!! Here are some of the families that were there this year…

Josh and Megan hosted an AWESOME party!!! Adults were happy (they made enough Jello shots to last a while!), the kids were entertained…it was perfect!! There was even a dance floor this year…yeah most of the time it was the little kids getting down instead of adults thinking they had groovy moves, but it was so cute to watch!!  Speaking of cute…oh my word…I walked in on Owen and Molly playing so nicely together! Owen was showing her the cool games on my phone…and she sat so patiently and just watched him play. It was THE cutest thing ever. At one point Molly was resting her head on his shoulder…it was adorable!!! Later in the evening I found them playing on the piano…Owen was “playing the music, while Mowee (Molly) sang!” haha It was so cute.

And now today…Daddy is away watching football ALL day while Owen and Mommy rest up for the big Trick-or-Treating event tomorrow! Owen’s so excited. He keeps asking if its going to be “Fooky” (that’s spooky!) haha He woke up this morning with a bit of a fever and running nose…sooo resting all day will hopefully make sure he’s feel better for tomorrow!

Fantasy Pumpkins?

Sundays during football season can be very tiring!! Yosh is OBSESSED with his fantasy football teams…yes plural. This year he has THREE fantasy teams AND is involved in a pick ‘em league…which equals FOUR teams to be managing during football season! So he LOVES LOVES LOVES to watch football with his boyfriends, with the laptop open in front of him so he can keep up with the Live Scoring, relaxing, talkin’ trash to his friends! Doesn’t sound tiring does it…UNTIL you end up with 3-5 guys over your house from 9:30am until into the evening!!! They are drinking beers, cooking fatty foods, shouting at eachoth and sometimes there are children in that mix!! Makes for a long day! haha But the men even created a co-ed husband and wife fantasy league called The Ball and Chain League…and I must admit…it’s pretty fun! Makes Sunday a bit more fun forsure!

And this Sunday ended up being another great one…after the issue with the Gerke’s cable (damn Charter!)…the football party was moved to the Souza house (which I was trying to avoid since the cleaning lady had just come this week BUT whadda gonna do hahaha)
So we thought…all these kids would just LOVE to carve pumpkins…right???
haha  WRONG!

Its pretty funny how us parents are all excited to carve these amazing little pumpkins with our children…and it ends up the parents doing everything since the kids think its too gross to touch! :/   Notice how in the group pictures up there the parents are doing the work while kids are standing around watching!! haaha Someday they will actually help us right??!?  Talk about a messy pain in the butt! haha

Since it seems that everyone is crazy about Pinterest right now…so some of you will appreciate this. My friend Heather searched for pumpkin pics and found a really adorable one of a cute baby sitting in a huge pumpkin. So…Heather and Matt tried to make it happen.

 

Baby Brynn was such a little trooper for this picture. And Heather and Matt are so darn patient. This pic is totally cute but MAN…it took some major time to get her in there w/o screaming!!

 

 

 

These are the pictures leading up to that perfect little pose. But in the end Baby Brynn really is an amazing little model!!! And Thank You pinterest for giving Heather the cute idea!!!! Time to get back to Pinning some more CUTE ideas!! haha

The kids loved playing outside on this warm October afternoon, pretending to help us clean and carve the pumpkins. Key word PRETENDING!! haha But all in all it was fun!

And I think the best part was seeing Owen and how excited he was about his pumpkin being lite up after bath-time!  He was so proud of his pumpkin!! It was so cute!

Happy Birthday Papa!

This weekend we celebrated Yosh’s dad’s 69th birthday!! Owen was so excited to hang out with his Papa…and sing him happy birthday (a few times throughout the evening).  Al’s actual birthday is on Sunday Oct. 23rd

Then Owen got some time to try and show Papa how to use the ipad or my iphone (whichever Owen could get his hands on!). It was so cute!! Papa tried to figure out just HOW Owen was able to find his games and play them with no assistance…I told Papa it was b/c our Owen is just a genius! haha 

Owen was trying to teach that old dog new tricks!
