There were on crazy BBQs or pool parties for the Souza’s this year. We weren’t out of school for the summer yet, our friends were camping, which we couldn’t go with because of our concert on the Friday of memorial day weekend and we were actually looking forward to a relaxing weekend with minimal plans. Which ended up being a blessing in disguise. After our concert night on the Friday night…Owen was puking with a fever the next 2 days…and of course you know what happens next….Ella got it!
So we stayed home and just laid low.
It’s the second flu we have gotten this year and it sucked!! Took FOREVER to filter its way out of our house….once you thought someone was over it they would spike a fever or complain of a bellyache. Ugh so annoying!
But it WAS Memorial Day weekend so I dressed the kids all in Red, White and Blue (and in stripes..didn’t even mean to make them match that way)…feeling oh so festive…crazy to think back with Yosh and I were young this was the start of our busy lifeguarding jobs. Memorial Day was the kick off…and now its so different for us.
I do have to say I loved explaining to Owen what the meaning behind Memorial Day was…he’s very intrigued by soldiers, wars, etc.
We went by Papa and Mya’s for a quick lunch visit…then came home BBQ’d and played in the pool. It was nice.
Summer Swim Sessions with Daddy…usually start and/or end with one/two children crying! haha
I love days like this. Lazy, easy yet so fulfilling!
And these sisters…sharing bathing suits…and are SOO different from eachother!
Was a great weekend…even though kids were puking, fevers were crazy and there was LOTS of complaining and sleeping. haha Please God this summer brings us health and enough with the colds, flu’s etc.
