Alyssa

Being asked to me a God-Parent is such an honor…When Cindy asked me to be her first born’s Godmother 8 years ago I wasn’t sure of the responsibilities it called for but was very excited and blessed to take on that role.   Then a few years later I was asked by MY godmother to be the godmother of her son in Ireland…I can say I’m truly blessed with 2 wonderful godchildren!

August 2004…Cindy, my best friend since 3rd grade, was excited to have her first baby…you can’t tell by this picture…she was super excited to NOT be pregnant anymore!! (heehee Cindy don’t kill me for posting this pic!!)

Cindy went in for her routine check on August 24th and doctor said she was losing fluid and would have to be induced.  So the fun started!!!

We all zipped over after work (back in my lifeguarding days at Jurupa Lagoon)…and we spent the night on the floor at Kaiser…anxiously awaiting our Little Alyssa’s arrival…we were young and didn’t get the concept that it could literally take HOURS/DAYS to have a baby…but we all waited as long as we could!

And finally on August 25th, 2004 Alyssa Brianne arrived!! We were all so happy!

She was so cute…tons of fur (just like her Auntie Erin!)…loved her!

See…she wasn’t sure about me even on her first birthday!!! haha

But in July of 2005 Cindy and Ray had Alyssa baptized by her Uncle Kevin. I was the Godmother and Raymond best friend, Edwin was her Godfather! It was the coolest thing…full immersion at the Cathedral of Our Lady in Los Angeles and Alyssa LOVED it…she clapped her hands after being dunked 3 times! What baby does that??

Its eight years later…and that little baby we fell in love with is now 8 years old. I can’t say I have been the best godmother but I try! You know I always tell myself that you NEED to be there for her…like at soccer games and school performances…but life somehow can get in the way! But I hope she knows I love her…and will be with her forever and ever!

Sense of Relief!

6 days ago I went to get an ultrasound to find out the gender of our little baby…and if you remember I was a bit (ok a lot) concerned when the ultrasound lady said my baby wasn’t as developed as my friends baby whom was 3 days ahead of me.  I kinda was freakin’ out…thinking the worst…you know those crazy pregnant thoughts! (Hate them sometime!)

Today I had my routine OB check-up…and of course I told her about my worries. She was irritated that the lady mentioned anything…she’s not suppose to give any information like that.  But after discussing my weight loss (yes…lost 2 lbs…weird!) and some other things she did a quick ultrasound to give our sweet girl a peek.

Baby Girl sucking her thumb!

And reassured me that EVERYTHING was great. Baby GIRL (yes she confirmed that we are still expecting a girl haha)…measured perfectly at 16 weeks…legs and head measured perfect…fluids measured perfect…oh you could hear my heart singing (actually I was crying with relief!) Everything was great!  I was concerned also that baby looked squished…but she’s just cuddling close with my placenta which is placed a little bit low right now. No biggie…if it stays low I’m having the already scheduled c-section anyway…but it usually moves up as I grow!

Its great having an AWESOME OB/GYN…I really like her so much!!! If anyone needs a OB at Kaiser Fontana Dr. Simmons is AMAZING!! Just sayin’!

But anyway…today I’m 16 weeks…and very happy! Only 23 more weeks!!

PeeWee Soccer

I’m officially a “soccer mom”. NEVER in my life did I think I’d see the day….oh it so cool!!

IMG_8243

I was a tad hesitant to put Owen in any sports…but thought to myself…he’s gotta learn…right?!? When I picked him up from daycare today and told him it was the big soccer day he started crying…begging to NOT go to soccer!  Oh no…BUT we went (bribing him with ice cream after practice)….and DURING practice Owen said…”Mom, I LOVE this”   Watching him run around is the cutest thing ever.  Since it’s a 2-3 year old “team”…the parents help out quit a bit (actually Yosh was basically doing all the games with Owen the whole time…heehee)

Our first “team” meeting. Coach Gabe giving us parents the “be patient with your toddler speech”.

IMG_8095
So awesome…Owen was so happy to have his bestie Addi playing on “his team” with him! The soccer field was set up like a big square with 4 goals, perimeter cones…beautiful grass field…and 19 2-3 year olds running around like crazy with their parents running after them! Oh it was so hectic yet so awesome at the same time.

First game was called Fox Tail…the kids had jersey’s tucked into their shorts hanging like a tail and they had to run while dribbling the ball from their parent while they tried pulling their “tail”.
Daddy fixing Owen’s “tail”.

Followed by a water break!

Then back out for a kicking cone over game…

Another water break…my little soccer stud was taking the water then BACK on the field…he couldn’t get enough of it!
IMG_8181

It was fun watching Owen sit, listen and follow directions from his Coach. I loved it…made me so proud of him!

IMG_8193IMG_8201IMG_8208IMG_8211

Practice was so cute and ended with the kids running through a parent tunnel…Owen thought it was so funny…he went twice! haha
IMG_8230IMG_8231IMG_8232IMG_8233

Look at that smile…I’m so satisfied with getting Owen into this program through the community. Its so fun to have a glimpse into our future of sports and stuff with him!

IMG_8241

This picture above was like pulling teeth…they were BEGGING to get some time at the park before going out for ice cream…you’d think they’d be tired but NOPE! haha
IMG_8248
Off they went…and TEARS to get them to leave to park and go out for ice cream…weird kids.

Here’s a 5-6 minute video I “threw” together (took me almost 2 damn hours!) haha

It’s a…

Yesterday (Saturday 8/18/2012) was one of the more exciting days ever….definitely top 5 in my life.  When we were pregnant with Owen….his gender was a surprise…we never knew the whole pregnancy. It was pretty awesome to hear…”It’s a Boy!” while laying on the table after my c-section.  But now that we have more than just Yosh and I to worry about…we thought it would be best to prepare Owen as best as possible for the upcoming “life change”. haha If you know Owen at all he’s not a huge fan of change…he likes his routine and isn’t too happy when we change it. SO..that being said…this child is in for some MAJOR changes come February.  We knew we wanted to find out the gender so he knew whether or not he was going to have a Baby Brother or Baby Sister…and  like many of you know you can now find out what you are having as early as 13 weeks…its crazy!

My friend Heather is due with her 3rd baby just 3 days before me…so its pretty fun to again be pregnant alongside a great friend.  She was bursting to find out what she was having…so we decided to go this weekend and then have a “pinterest inspired” photo-shoot after.  I will say I was having mixed emotions about finding out…for whatever reason…I am a little more paranoid during this pregnancy than I was the first time. Like I have said before…it seems that nothing is easy for me so I’m nervous for this baby!

IMG_1379

But we snuck off  to the ultrasound place in Costa Mesa (not telling many people we were doing this)…paid our $25 for the ultrasound. The room was big and dark…the boys (Owen and & Ryland) weren’t all that into the whole thing …so they sat and played their ipads, while Brynn hung out eating her raisins. The husbands there…being awkward and making “funny comments” to lighten the mood.  I went first…I was so nervous. The tech found the gender on her little screen first…while Heather and Matt watched…yes…Heather knew what I was having before we did. After that she printed pics of “the goods” and then turned on the big screens so we could all have a look at Baby Souza.

Our Baby was laying facing us…cuddling up in a ball and sleeping. I even drank a cold sweet drink 30 minutes prior like they instructed but my baby just wasn’t havin’ it! I got up and did some jumping jacks to try and get it to move and reposition for better pictures but no luck. So the pictures we got are all of our “alien looking baby” looking at us head on! haha  Once we were all finished…it was Heathers turn.  It was cool to see someone else’s baby..compare and see how they were similar…

Once we left the ultrasound place…we headed to a party store with our HUGE boxes. Heather went in first, ordered the balloons for my box. Then my turn to go in and order balloons for her box. Boxes were filled…the anticipation was killing everyone (including my mother at home in Fontana).  It was crazy knowing what Heather was having…I was so excited for them to find out…they were going to be shocked!

We drove to Yorba Linda Park…to do our “gender reveal photo-shoot”. It was so fun!

Cildermans went first…
IMG_5054IMG_5216
Heather and Matt were convinced they were having another girl…BUT they are actually expecting a little dude…so the shock on their faces was priceless! I’m so happy we were there to see it…and catch it on camera for them!

I had a feeling what we were having…but the time was finally here to see forsure!

I was explaining to Owen that if blue balloons come out he's having a baby brother and if pink comes out we’re having a baby girl!…

Yaaaayyyy….We were all so very excited…even Owen!!

15 Weeks Prego…only 24 more to go!!!

We are all so so thrilled to be expecting a little girl into the house…BUT unfortunately I felt a little uneasy…

While we were at the ultrasound place the lady doing the ultrasound made a few comments that concerned me a bit. When we were looking at Baby Cilderman she made the comment that Heathers baby looked bigger and more developed than my baby. She said that she would have thought they were more than 3 days apart. She said Baby Souza looked 14-15 weeks and Heathers looking at 15-16 weeks. Baby Souza’s heart was beating and everything BUT the fact that she seems “less developed” (the lady’s term) has me thinking, praying that everything is ok!  I mean…I was only 15 weeks on Friday and Heather will be 16 weeks on Tuesday…so maybe everything is ok! haha I see my OB on Friday…so I’ll let her know of my concerns and hopefully she’ll take a peek at our Baby Girl and ease my worries!

For that reason I was hesitant to post anything…BUT after lots of thinking…I thought it was ok to share…IF (God forbid) something was wrong we’ll just cross that bridge when we get there…but I’m so mad at that lady for saying anything…doesn’t she KNOW pregnant ladies are hyper sensitive?!? And I’m mad at myself for letting her cloud my happy day yesterday! grrrrr.

Crazy…we’ll have one of each…time to start looking at nurseries, color schemes, girl clothes (teeheehee)…oh how exciting!!!

The video I made to send to Nana…she called me CRYING her eyes out with excitement! Smile
