I’m not exactly sure why pancakes are such a big deal in my family…maybe it was because when Mom was younger they were poor and could never afford to make pancakes so it was a super special treat?!? But my Nanny LOVES having us over for pancakes while we are home…and this trip was no different. It was the day before we were heading to Dublin for our flight and half the family had the stomach flu BUT we got to spend our afternoon in Irishtown with the few healthy members of the family. haha
I loved watching my kids make their pancakes (which are a bit like American crapes with butter, sugar, molassess type syrup, and lemon!…weird right?!?). They put all the goodies on them, rolled them up and ate them like a taquito. haha
Standing back was tough…Type A Mama wanted to take control and show them what to do…Ella wasn’t too sure and Owen was in heaven making a mess. I need to stand back a bit more sometimes. Let them figure things out. Ask questions and get answers fro people other than me.
And little Maggie was passed around to hang with her cousins and Great-Grandmother.
Nanny hates having her picture taken…but her vision is almost non-existant so I try and take pictures of her as often as possible.
Our next trip Nanny can make pancakes and Maggie will be up at that table eating them too!!
