Homeward Bound

And after 3 weeks we headed home!!

Now, don’t get me wrong, its very nice visiting family. BUT its also very stressful to be in someone else’s house for that amount of time. So by the end of the 3 weeks, we were pretty excited to get back to the comfort of our own home…and the sun! haha So we headed east to Dublin the day before our flight to stay in a hotel that was 100feet away from the airport.

We pushed beds together and all 5 slept together.  Don’t know how much “sleep” happened…hence why our kids sleep in their own darn beds! lol But it was a nice way to end the trip…all 5 of us together…very close haha.

All boarded and ready to get to home. When we booked our tickets with Delta we had to do so by calling the ticket agent themselves (instead of online like the normal person does). When flying with an infant who isn’t getting their own seat you have to make sure they know shes going and pay taxes from the US and Ireland and blah blah blah. Also when we booked we were told that we were going to have the seats where the “air cot” could be put. (An air cot is like a bassinet that hangs on the wall).  Well both legs of our trip going to Ireland we did NOT get those seats.  So coming home we were determined to make sure we got them!  We were checked in at Dublin…being TOLD we had those seats…get on the plane and WE DON’T HAVE THOSE SEATS!  So we were grinning through our total annoyance in this picture.

But when we landed in New York we were greeted by one of our favorite people!  Lauren used to play polo for Yosh when she went to Centennial High. She had kept in contact, spent a few years coaching with us at Roosevelt and then she grew up and got a big-girl job…a Delta flight attendant!  When she knew we were traveling she arranged her schedule so she could work OUR flight.  How cool is that!?!?

Lauren even got Owen up to meet the pilots! Ella was too scared but Owen went up there and thought it was so cool. I was probably more excited then him but it was so awesome.

Ella loved her special kit. haha Looking back at her with a pacifier in her mouth makes me kinda sad too. She was a “baby” coming home from that trip. Now shes in a big girl bed, no pacifier and in undies. So much has changed.

And we caught Lauren in action too!  If I could go back in time I TOTALLY should have been a flight attendant in my younger years!! So fun!

And I’m not going to lie…I felt like a freaking champion for getting all 3 kids to sleep at the same time!! Yes Ella is on the floor of an airplane BUT she was laying on a blanket…and it kept her quiet. Whatever.
