Between our very pleasant Bunny trip AND our relaxing day with family…I think this Easter was one of the best!
Owen’s experiences with the Bunny has definitely improved over time…Let me explain…
He went from TERRIFIED, to kinda okay about it (even with the creepy BassPro Shop bunny!)…to NOT a fear at all this year. He walked up…sat next to him…said cheese..give him a high five, hugs and away we went! It was awesome!
Last night we prepped for the bunny…which was fun! It was the first year where I realized we don’t have REAL Easter Bunny traditions…so I was trying to think of stuff last night…oh the fly.
So we left the Bunny a treat…hoping that he’d in return leave something nice for Owen. I think Owen was excited but a little scared that a huge furry animal MIGHT come into the house over night. haha It was kinda cute.
Owen woke up to a trail of eggs…leading to his goodies. It was so cute watching him collect the eggs…half terrified the bunny would still be in the house and jump out! haha
He had a great morning opening all his little goodies…and after nap Owen woke up to a house of his favorite people…Nana, Granda, Mya, Papa and Great Aunty Catherine. He was thrilled..especially since “the easter bunny stopped at their houses for Owen too!”
TWO more baskets of stuff…talk about a happy camper….and oh geez the amount of candy my child ate today…haha hope it doesn’t ruin tonight since we are back to work in the morning!
I cooked today…kinda proud of myself. Started with some cute little chickie deviled eggs
Thank you pinterest for another cute idea
And continued to cook a honey glazed ham, smashed potatoes (thanks again pinterest), corn, rolls and mom made potato salad…BAM done! Nothing extravagant this year. No stress, no fuss. I always say that I wish I had a normal family…when we could just relax when we got together…and guess what…today we JUST RELAXED. It was so nice! Felt to good! We ate dinner…watched the Easter movie called “Hop” with enjoying some pie brought by Al & Marilyn (and brownies and ice cream too!)…and just hung out. It was fabulous. Probably the most relaxing holiday ever!! Well most relaxing since I started hosting holidays at our house!
Here is a little year to year comparison…I love doing this…somehow Yosh thought it was a good idea to start taking a picture with Owen on his shoulder every Easter…(yeah I about lost it the first year when he was only like 8 days old!)
But hope you all had a great Easter…and if you have any idea of cute Easter traditions…let me know…I’m open for ideas for next year! Much Love: The Souza’s.
