Dirty Thirty!

Finally…I made it! I turned 30 on Friday the 13th…and I’ll admit I was nervous that it could possibly turn out like my 25th birthday which was also on a Friday (got a speeding ticket, bad weather in Laughlin, Food Poisoning at dinner AND my puppy present died a few weeks after…it was my Bad Luck Birthday! It kinda sucked that year!) So tension was high with the thoughts that my birthday MIGHT possibly turn out badly..ESPECIALLY since it POURED rain…like thunder lightening…the works.

But no…it was an awesome day! I came into work and found my desk looking like this…

Presents, candy, cupcakes…what more could a girl as for! haha My friends Erin and Taryn left all this for me…it was super cute. Inside every balloon there was a special little message, candy and lil presents like this…

So awesome! Thank you girls for making me feel so special!

That evening Yosh had surprise #1…which was dance lessons at Arthur Murray. We both have always said we love watching old couples dance together…its beautiful to see them be so comfortable and move in sync.  So Yosh lined up some ballroom lessons…we started on Friday and now have 4 more days…some private, some group, some party lessons…I’m REALLY looking forward to it.

Francesca is our instructor…and I’m excited to see what moves we learn and are able to use on our cruise this June! After our lessons we headed to Cheesecake Factory for some dinner…, got home to surprise #2…Country Mega Tickets! Basically we got tickets to 4 country concerts over the summer…Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith and Jason Aldean…yay talk about fun fun fun!  But then we called it a night…nice and early, we needed our rest since the birthday festivities were continuing the next day!

Has anyone ever gone on a party bus…if not I highly recommend it. We reserved a 30 person party bus to bring us to Saddle Ranch at Universal City Walk. So you can only imagine…a bus of 25 people (we had a few flakers)…where EVERYONE can let loose and have a good time without the worries of who's drinking, who’s driving…all those worries are taken care of. I will say I think it was one of the most fun nights I’ve ever had! We started the evening off with some pre-partying at my house…yes boozin’ it up…jello shots, vodka gummy bears, wine, cocktails…we had it all!

Then it was time to have some fun on the bus…oh MAN!

I think the bus brought out the freak in everyone…those that are usually very reserved were using the poles above as stripper poles…it was awesome! haha Dancing while the bus was moving was definitely challenging…you had to hold on up top..brace yourself and then still end up falling in someone’s lap…it was fantastic! haha

Saddle Ranch was a great time as well…a few surprise guests showed up too (Katie, Leslie & Monica)…AND I have to say I’m pretty proud of myself…I actually ordered 2 waters for myself while there…AND DRANK them! Yes my old age is making me very rational!

We had a table…roped off area…bottle service…cotton candy…it was awesome. We got to boogie for a bit…then headed back home for more bus dancing! (I guess it took us 2 hours to get home…but time flies when you are having fun!)

Holly’s Instagram collage…I loved it…oh so much fun!

Came home, popped some frozen pizzas in the oven…ate and went to BED! My goodness it was such a fun night…I danced so much my dress even broke!!! IF that doesn’t tell you how good of a time we had I don’t know what would!

A lot of my friends are turning 30 this year…and many have such mixed emotions about it. I see all over facebook how some are dreading it, some are sad, some are angry, they feel old and that the better part of their lives is over, scared that they are going to be targeted as being that “old” person…but I don’t feel that way. I find turning 30 to be something that I’m so excited about…grateful for! There was a time not long ago when I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it to see 30…I was scared that I wasn’t going to win my battle with cancer and that I’d never see the day. So yeah this marks a change in age but it means so much more…it marks the time in my life when I must cherish everything I have…my happiness, my health and my family & friends. I’m excited to get old…just means that we are alive…and I’m thankful to be alive!

Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with me…this is my best birthday thus far. Can’t wait to do a party bus for my 50th! haha And a big thank you to my hubby…you did a good job this year…I LOVE you very much!! xoxo
