My life has been exhausting the past 2 weeks…and I can’t say its my husbands fault but MAN…him being off his feet and out of commission is hard on a pregnant lady! haha. If you remember…2 weeks ago Yosh rolled his ankle and broke his foot…he has been a VERY good patient about staying off his foot (not so much about elevating it) but he’s seriously NOT putting any pressure on that bad boy…terrified it would make the break more severe and he’d end up needing surgery.
Today was his 2 week check-up with the Orthopedic Specialist…I was praying for some type of miraculous healing and he’d be able to walk outta there…well…not so much…
This is what his foot looked like when they took the cast/splint off and we waited for x-rays…swollen, ugly and bruised!! My hopes of him WALKING out of Kaiser were starting to REALLY look dim when I saw how ugly looking it still was.
Here the doctor is explaining that thankfully Yosh does NOT have a Jones fracture BUT his foot is still fractured! haha He is to stay off it for another week with crutches and then start walking as tolerated. So it’s a partial blessing…one more week and then hopefully he’ll start being able to be a bit mobile! Doc said that it would be MONTHS before he’s running or jumping again (Yosh is devastated his marathon career is over!) haha Another Souza in another camboot…GEEZUS!!
And of course…Yosh isn’t the only Kaiser visitor this week…we had a bit of a scare on the baby front. Without going into TOO much detail…we thought that my water had possibly ruptured!! Which would NOT be good since I’m only 24 weeks (well 25 today…but you know!)
I headed to Labor and Delivery on Tuesday…to get the FULL check…and praise to GOD that it was not my water…but I WAS having contractions thanks to an infection I acquired from antibiotics, you know those girly infections that I don’t need to describe! (And yes…Antibiotics that I was on since I have ALSO acquired MRSA from my lovely little son! Whom had MRSA in July/August!! why why why) Boo…this all causes for more stress on Mama since MRSA CAN affect baby girl..which will make delivery a bit more eventful!
Anyway…one day at a time…here are some pics from MY little visit at Kaiser this week…
Being all strapped up to monitors got me thinking…holy hell this baby is gonna be coming before I know it! Sh*t we need to get Yosh walking and moving to build her room! Eck!
Since I have THE Black Plague, I mean THE GOD AWFUL MRSA …(they make you feel like you are a walking death trap!)…you have to be separated from everyone else AND every time someone comes in your room they have to be fully gowned up…HELL even the ultrasound machine was “gowned up!”…its bad when the nurses and doctors are all annoyed with the precautions. One doc said “this is kinda over-kill huh?!?”. Yes ma’am…it sure it…ESPECIALLY after a nurse told me that all nurses and doctors refuse the MRSA screening b/c they all probably have it or are carriers…..well THANKS people…you all have it…but make us feel like the infected animals…not cool.
Don’t worry…no ultrasound machines were infected during this visit with Kaiser…everyone will live and no lives were altered!
Anyway…another eventful week at Kaiser…you all laugh about how much we go there but I seriously Thank God we have insurance!!! Now…for Yosh’s foot to heal…and Baby Girl to stay safely in my belly until January! haha
PS. Never a dull moment in the Souza house!!
