Every time we visit Ireland we try and get an adult trip/night with, who I call “my crew”. Consists of us, my cousin Alan, his wife Denise, my best friend Catherine and her husband John…all of who are some of best friends now.
Sometimes we get out locally. Sometimes we get to go away away. One year we got to England. Either way we make it a point to get some time together. I love these people…a lot!
It was a BEAUTIFUL day in Galway. I swear the odd day the sun comes out in that country it is one of the most beautiful places. I wish it rained less and the sun was out more! In Ireland the sun doesn’t go down during the summer until well after 10:30pm. Its freaky to be walking out of a pub at 11pm and the sun be setting some nights! Talk about mind-blown…and shock to the system, especially when you are trying to get yourself on Irish time for sleeping! hah. Its crazy!
Galway is SUCH an amazing place! I love it there! My cousin went to college there and I have spent a good few nights out there. There are shops, pubs, great music and a beach city very close!
These nights together are our time to get to chat about everyday stuff, the deep stuff and everything in between.
We did a pub crawl. Had a few drinks at some of their fav stops. Galway has the cobble stone streets/walk-ways, it has the outside dining, the cute atmosphere everyone thinks about when you think Ireland. I love it. They have people out playing music, dancing, artists, etc. There was a guy making money…if you could hang on the bar for 60 seconds without falling they would win 100 euros. Both Alan and John tried it. Neither got it..its a twisting pole so yeah. It was fun.
We were on the hunt for the pub that Ed Sheeran filmed his Galway Girl music video!
We walked into O’Connell’s and saw this bartender!.
I told him he looked familiar to me. He grinned. My friend Catherine asked if I could get behind the bar and get a picture…since I was from California. haha He was nice and let me back there! I was excited. Remember him from here…
It was a super cute pub. They had an indoor area that had lots of OLD Irish stuff…like candy tins, food tins, wrappers, etc. And then an outdoor courtyard and was SUPER cute!!!
During this trip I used Insta-story A LOT. And LOVED it. All the little videos and pictures automatically saved to my phone to keep forever and I really am happy about it! Taking pictures, writing funny captions, etc. Yep I love it! Like this pic of Dee…loved the “gin glass” but that dude behind us was annoying haha
We went to a club that had an 80s hair-band. Catherine was in her element! She LOVED every minute of it!! The place itself was cool.
And someone brought out the smirnoff ice’s. haha
We got home late…of course after a good feed at SuperMac’s yum! Late nights, booze and greasy food….ohhh we love Ireland!
I thought the next morning was going to be rough…but it totally wasn’t!! Thank god! We got to walk around Salt Hill, which is a very close town thats a total beach town. It was awesome and the sun was out for the 2nd day…wish we had our suits that day!!
And I took this picture and it made me laugh…it was a warm day and we were in a restaurant without AC. It was warm but loved feeling the “beachy” side of Ireland.
I ordered the Piri Piri Fries…basically are like garlic fries with guacamole..weird huh?!?
