Oddly enough we have celebrated Father’s day in Ireland a few times. Being away from home makes things complicated..but not for my hubs. Hes the best and never even minds if he doesn’t get the pampering and celebration like some dads expect to get!
This year Father’s Day landed just a few days after we landed in Ireland. We were still getting our bodies, and our children’s bodies to adjust to the 8 hour time difference BUT we had a night away planned with our besties.
Up early to my amazing mother cooking a yummy Irish breakfast.
We ate, showered and then headed off. The kids were ready for us to leave, so they could get some alone time with my parents. And we were ready to get some adult time with my cousins and besties.
We couldn’t bring Daddy his present BUT the brand new BBQ was waiting for him at home…and he was happy!!
My husband is the best father and husband. My kids are lucky to have him! He’s the loving, playful, funny, crazy Daddy! He enjoys teaching them how to do things, is patient with homework, understands his role especially when they want their mommy (heehee, poor daddy). He knows how to make them laugh, knows how to make them mad, and loves doing both! I thank god everyday for him. He’s the ying to my yang and I couldn’t be the mom I am without him!
I got a quick gift with my Dad…he’s not one for taking pics. We got him a new garden flag for their Irish home. Only appropriate for Firestone Lodge to have the Firestone challenge coin flag in the yard!
…and off we went to Galway!
