Reminiscing..

Today there is nothing special going on. My niece got sick yesterday at Universal Studios…and after a long visit at Beaver Medical Urgent Care where they did blood work, tests, hydrated her and then diagnosed her with food poisoning. Poor little thing. So the plans for the beach today were cancelled and they gave her some time to stay at Grandpa and Mya’s house and rest.  Luckily for her she was feeling MUCH better today and so they went ahead with their plans and headed to Disneyland for a few days of fun!!

So Owen and I were looking for something to do since there was no beach…and who can pass up the $1movies?? The Eastvale Regal Theatre does a Summer Express movie thing…every Tuesday and Wednesday they play an older movie at 10am for only a buck. This week the choice was either Cats and Dog or Shrek. So we saw Shrek Ever After, since I knew he’d like that (we own it so I knew he’d sit through most of it!)…it was a good time and I recommend it to anyone with kids in the area!

I came home with intentions to do homework BUT instead I sat here at the computer and skyped with my bestie, Catherine, in Ireland for 55 minutes. We chatted about her wedding plans, Owen, and just everyday life…it was so nice to sit and chat. I swear skype is so rad…it’s a FREE download and you can chat at anytime for FREE…and even see the people. Its so awesome. I swear one of these evenings we are going to have a virtual party…drink and chat via skype, pretend like we are actually in the same room! haha But that damn 8 hour time difference might get in the way a bit! haha But today we got so very excited thinking about her wedding in just 5 months time! Whoohoo…roll on Christmas! 

We were chatting away and I realized that just one year ago TODAY we were IN Ireland…baptizing Owen. Catherine is Owen’s Godmother and Alan (my cousin) in his Godfather. Our reminiscing made me think…Gosh this year has flown by. Its crazy…its like time is going faster and now I don’t want it to! When I was sick I would wish my days away…just wanting to be one step closer to finishing treatment. Now I’m healthy and I feel like those wishes are still coming true…time is moving tooooo fast!

Then an awesome reception at my cousin Alan & Denise’s house! What a great day we had.  Owen is truly loved by so many people!!

This day last year we were in Ireland freezin our butts off in the cold rain…and today after nap we went to a park with water features b/c it was roasting hot outside!

I swear I thought I knew my child pretty well…BUT the past few weeks he is turning me into such a liar! He’s been acting much more aggressively, bratty and just out of his normal personality type. I guess we are finally hitting the “terrible twos”.  I told Taryn that Owen probably wouldn’t even go near the water at this park…but we both knew that Addi would be all about it.  And of course…it was the opposite. Owen was soaked and Addi stood by and just watched him play in the water. haha It made us laugh. I swear once you THINK you know your kid they change! haha
