This year Sea World had an AWESOME teachers appreciation offer back in May…teachers got a FREE year pass to Sea World w/ only like 4 black-out dates. My Mom is a HUGE fan of Sea World…she was DIEING to go! So Owen brought his Nana to see the Dolphins and Penguins and Walrus and Polar Bears and The Sharks…its cute he lists all the animals just like that every time you mention Sea World.
We arrived at Sea World after Owen’s nap, lunch AND the hour drive to San Diego…which was good since we got there as a lot of people were leaving. First stop was the Doggy Show (*Pets Rule!)…they had a modified show (which SUCKED). And Owen had a little bit of anxiety with the man talking on the microphone so loudly…he clenches on for dear life…poor little dude!
Next stop was the Arctic place with the polar bears, walrus, beluga whales etc. AND we met up with Owen’s friend Eden.
Then the penguins (which Owen just LOVES for some reason!)…then I get out my niffty diffy map to figure out our schedule for the evening (I’m soooo like my father!) haha
Turtle Reef and the tank that looks like Nemo’s home.
Owen was scared of the shark tank…he said they would bite him!?! Where he got that from I have no clue. The sharks on Nemo are nice so??? But Nana told him that if ANY shark was mean we’d tell Grandad on them…so Owen was ok with going inside! haha Big Bad Grandad (who was NOT at Sea World with us) will scare those nasty sharks off!!
FINALLY we got to see the Blue Horizons Dolphin show…it was awesome! It’s the only show that Owen actually LIKED! He cried (of course) but at the end b/c he wanted to see it again!!!! It’s a pretty cool show…I recommend seeing it if you haven’t already!
It makes my heart happy to see Owen LOVE water animals. Mother and I were talking about how when I was a kid, after our first visit to Sea World when I was about 7-8 years old I declared my major in college…Marine Biology! I just HAD to be a dolphin trainer when I grew up! I loved dolphins for YEARS! I remember my Dad always bringing me home dolphin things…even when I was like 16 and had gotten over my dream of being a dolphin trainer. heehee. I hope Owen loves the water like his family does and grows up to be something cool like a Marine Biologist that finds a cure for Cancer in a new species of sea weed, publishes a famous article, becomes rich and famous and lives happily ever after! hahaha Dreamin’ right..
Thanks for another AWESOME day Owen and Mom…
