I knew when I booked my ticket to see my best friend Erika up in Washington I had NO expectation to really do much…I was actually going to pack ALL comfy clothes (no jeans!). All I wanted was to see Erika, cuddle little Lauren as much as possible and win Charlie’s heart over! So my day in Seattle was a TOTAL bonus!
I woke up Saturday morning to an almost winter wonderland in Warden! It wasn’t like inches of snow BUT it was snow-frost that covered EVERYTHING. It was so awesome!
This picture does my description NO justice…but I promise it was beautiful!
Since having Lauren 6 weeks ago Erika hasn’t gotten out much (as to be expected)…so I was happy to be able to get her out of the house for a few hours for some girl time. We had a romantic lunch at Arby’s followed by a amazing trip to WALMART! lol Yes. Its basically the best store they have in Moses Lake…and even has a bomb diggity nail salon (I don’t know how many actual nail salons exist in Moses Lake). I’m not gonna lie…I was a little nervous about getting a pedicure in a WALMART nail salon (I’m not judging) BUT it worked out great! No infections, ingrowns or wallys…so I’m impressed. And the people in the salon only laughed a little bit when I told the dude to paint them up for the SeaHawk game…When in Rome…right??
Not a great pic of the toes but there they are!
Nails & walmart shopping trip followed with some hot chocolate for this freezing California girl!! Weather was in the low 40’s….finally a chance to really wear my uggs!
But we hung out…ate….relaxed and didn’t do much. It felt amazing!!
See what I mean…Lauren was NOT amused by me AT ALL!! This was her face the whole time “whatchyoulookinat”
My reason for the trip…all in this picture (and Chuck I love you too boo…)
And Sunday was even more relaxing. Woke up and the sun was shining…BUT it was windy and FREEZIN!
Went on a quick errand, followed by having a chat with Erika’s neighbors.
I’m not gonna lie…those cows kinda scared me! But Charlie had NO fear…he wanted to get up close and personal…but we def didn’t let him!
We got ready to watch the SeaHawk game by making snack foods. I was pumped…
But not everyone was as excited about those SeaHawks.
I can’t blame Lauren…Green Bay was kinda kicking the sh*t out of the SeaHawks…I thought the game was over too and had a great snooze on the couch right next to her. BUT they had an epic come back to win the game!! Go SeaHawks (WHEN in Rome…)
We headed back to Seattle after breakfast on Monday. I LOVED the scenery the whole way back…Washington really is a beautiful state!
It went from sunny and beautiful to straight snowing! You drive through snow and mountains WITHOUT having to make a whindy road like going up to Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear. It was awesome!
Got dropped off at the Seattle Airport about 3 hours before my flight but it was ok because I was nervous I’d be late and miss that flight!! I got some great time to hang out, people watch (which is THE best at airports!) and get into my new book (which is really great by the way!) Lucky for me my flight was PACKED full. Not so fun!
The weekend was so amazing. I got to sleep in for Christ Sake! I miss having my best friend in my everyday life. I hope and pray that her and her family get to return to southern California sooner rather than later. But 4 days away from my babies and hubs was rough too! I was missing them and very excited to get my arms around my little family too!
Thank you Chuck and Erika for having me all weekend and making memories!! The memories will be locked in my heart forever!! I know Washington is lucky to have you BUT we need you back in California!! I love you both and can’t wait to see you in April AND September!
