Beach Day in Ireland

June 17th

I prayed and prayed that we’d get a beautiful day in Ireland where we could go to the beach….

Prayers were answered…we got to Enniscrone and it was a warm, sunny, beautiful day!  First thing to do…get a picture of Ella, like we have of Owen hanging in our bathroom.

Of course she wasn’t as cooperative as Owen was back then…took some work! And back in 2010 when we took this of Owen is was CHILLY…But he was all smiles…as usual. Such an easy child…and still is easy as a boy!

Our little family then and now.

And Owen is all grown-up now…nuts right?

Our Ella was a bit more awkward while trying to take this picture…she makes EVERYTHING harder!!! I swear Girls…there were tears and tears and tears!

But we got one…good enough.

The beaches in Ireland are SO different. First off…there are NO parking lots. You just throw your car anywhere…then climb down.  The water was OUT…like FAR! And because of the current it causes there weird funky ripple in the sand. Made walking a bit more difficult.  We brought my cousin Caoimhe….Owen was super excited to have her with us. She loves my kids and they love her…it was kinda like having a mobile nanny with us! haha

We had a fun day. The poor Irish got FRIED…a few days of sun and they were all red as tomatoes.

Denise wasn’t a fan of the sand…and she was burned from the day before, she wasn’t havin’ it BUT came and didn’t complain ONCE.  My brave buddy Catherine brought her 7 week old to the beach…without her hubs…i was so impressed BUT little Gavin wasn’t diggin’ the bright sun either.  The things my friends do for me…love you girls…I know it wasn’t on your top things to do but you came with us because you knew how much we love the beach!! Thanks!!  So we stayed 2ish hours and headed back home (thank god we did because everyone was getting so sun burned…even with sunscreen on!) I swear the sun is different in that part of the world!

But only in Ireland would the beach have a freaking castle on it.

I guess it wasn’t technically a castle…it was some old seaweed house (I have no clue what that is exactly) but it looked super cool to me!

Irish beaches…no waves..but still had a surf camp there. heehee. cute really.
