Wine Tasting

Lately, for the girls’ birthdays  in our group, we have done girls nights out…either painting, bowling, dancing, drinking, eating, etc. Its ALWAYS fun to get together kid and husband-free…BUT I opted to do something couples for my birthday.

The reason being…last time we were hanging out at the campsite with friends, and I looked around, it seemed like the boys were always on one side and the girls on the other! When we have a chance to ALL hang out together, mixed husbands, wives and kids, I have noticed that the men still find a way to group together leaving the wives and kids. I found myself kinda annoyed that we couldn’t inter-mix. 
So I felt that it meant we needed some couple time…we don’t get to do that very often these days. April is a super busy month for so many…so unfortunately the whole group couldn’t make it out, but we had a great time anyway.

For those that know me, they know that I kinda love my (cheap) wine!! Give it to me in a bottle, liter or box…I don’t judge. Who needs wine glasses…a red solo cup with ice is just as good! haha I know, I’m classy!

So going to the wineries I feel so fancy and its such a fun experience!

Heather put together my birthday wine day…we started with a picnic at Miramonte. Such a spread of food…sandwiches, wraps, tons of different cheeses, crackers, bread, humus, etc. It was beautiful!

We did a lot of boob talk..can you tell??

We wanted to skip the crowded wineries, so I got some info from a co-worker who frequents down that way…we headed off the grid.  AND we were responsible adults…we paid our younger assistant polo coach to drive us like a chauffeur. haha It was great.

And we finished our day at Kenway Winery. It was awesome. Basically just us, great music and comfy chairs. Perfect end to our day.

Got some couples pics…bought a bottle of the yummy Peach Chardonnay…and headed to dinner.

Thanks friends for getting sitters and coming out to celebrate my boring 32nd birthday!! We need to make it a point to spend more couple time together!! Love you guys!.

AND YOU KNOW I had to dig to see if I could find pictures from the only other time I have gone wine tasting…Feb 2008…Kyla had no memory of this trip…remember now??

This was back pre-kids for us…how boring life must have been!!! Don’t get me wrong, its nice to get away without kids but I would NEVER trade it for nothing.

I love wine…and look forward to another trip to the Temecula Wineries!!
