This was one of our favorite years…which is kinda weird because usually I put so much effort into decor, appetizers, trying to be “cute” and this year I totally didn’t. We went low key on pretty much the whole day. I didn’t stress about the food, the seating arrangements, the mess, nothing…and guess what…it ALL WORKED Out! Sometimes my anxiety about things makes enjoying it all a bit tough. Annoying right?!?
But today was wonderful. Started out with some Easter Baskets left by the bunny….
We then hung around at home, Mommy took a nap ((I’m feeling a bit run down lately…which has resulted it a darn coldsore on my lip <insert sad face> )), carried on our morning as usual. And the fam-bam arrived at 2pm.
Poor Papa had some skin cancer removed off his nose, hence the big band-aid.
Having cousins here means time for photo-opts!! heeheehee
And we had our first family Easter Egg Hunt…
Ella’s first Easter Egg hunt went great…girlfriend got the concept QUICK! She was even stealing eggs out of Owen’s basket…was hilarious!
His cousins hooked him up…they gave him all the money eggs! Aren’t they cute!! And then Owen came in and said….”We need to get a gift card for the Easter Bunny!” and I said “For what bud?” “To say Thank You!” …I love my boy…so thoughtful!
We ate some dinner, played outside…and just had a great day/evening together. No hassle, no worries! Was great! We didn’t have enough chairs and it wasn’t even an issue…(note to self…get some fold up chairs now that your family is moving back to Cali!)
Mom felt guilty for not having cake on my actual birthday…so today she made everyone sing to me and blow out a candle…isn’t she so cute! lol
And I made us all take a family pic. I LOVE it!!!
And Daddy did his ANNUAL EASTER pic with Owen…
This shoulder pic started as a way to give grandmothers a heart attack with a 8 day old baby….and has now turned into something we do every year! I can’t wait to see Daddy try and do this when Owen is a teenager!! haha
Hope you all had a great Easter as well!! Its been a tough, busy weekend!! It would have been my brothers 35th birthday yesterday..so he’s been on my mind more than usual! I know he’s up there celebrating but I want him here celebrating. I hope this family filled weekend can help my parents during this tough time…but of course makes us all wonder what it would have been like if he was here with us today.
Miss you my brother. I wish you would have gotten a chance to be the awesome Uncle i knew you would have been!
ps. Thank god Lent is over…OHHHH How I missed my diet soda!!!
