I’m shocked on how ON TOP of it I am this year…we already have outside xmas lights up (for the first time EVER!!!…like ever!) Yes they aren’t gonna win us any awards but this is a GREAT step in the right direction! (Yosh grew up without lights on his house…crazy huh!?!?) But this year I had Yosh putting them up the weekend after Thanksgiving, flu or not…and he was sooo thrilled to do it…lol
I kept reminding him the excitement that would be on his sons face when he saw them would make it ALL worth it!!
Sorry Yosh but lights on the house are a MUST for Christmas!!!
AND we also have our Christmas tree up and decorated!! Can you believe that?!? Now for the rest of our house and Christmas cards…yeah the boxes of decorations have been brought in from the garage but I just don’t have the energy to get the house decorated after working and coaching all day…but those will be unpacked soon enough. I’m not worried about it. And Christmas cards…yeah…I’ll find some time to get a cute picture ONE of these days! eck.
Funny thing…when we went to Home Depot to get our Christmas Tree I was so excited for Owen to get to help pick out the tree…this is the first year that I feel like he kinda seriously knows whats up! We arrive and my son automatically starts making comments about the smell (of christmas trees)…
What child doesn’t like the smell of Christmas trees???? Yes…obvious answer is my odd child!!! He walked around the lot with his hands over his nose and pretending to gag until we left!!! haha I thought it was so hilarious!
Got home and he was ok with the smell (thank goodness…don’t think you can return x-mas trees! haha)…and SOOOOO excited to get it decorated. I put on some Christmas tunes and we did just that. Our little family…no fighting or arguing (shocker we got the tree up without an argument…I remember my parents fighting EVERY year about the darn xmas tree!) It was such a nice peaceful night!! ….UNTIL the tree almost tipped over after it was fully decorated! LMAO
Sorry for the blurry pics lately…I got my early xmas present of a new camera…Canon 60D…so excited but still learning how to adjust my settings for the best possible pictures!
ps. Operation Elf on The Shelf is going MUCH better. Owen is starting to actually kinda like him and thinks its funny finding him in different places every morning.
Canon 60D?! Dang!!! That is one NICE santa gift!!! And, yes lights on the house is a MUST! Especially with little kiddos! Great job, mama!
