Yesterday I felt oh so very loved by some of my favorite girlfriends!!
I know that most people have showers for their second babies, especially if it’s a different gender than the first baby…BUT I just felt funny about it. I actually said I didn’t really want a shower BUT my dear friend Taryn said I was getting one whether I liked it or not! haha I expected just a few girls getting together for some snacks but Taryn, Erin and her Mom Brenda went ALL OUT! They were so thoughtful with all the decorations, food, desserts, games, everything!
The party-planners…with help from Heather and Gabby too!
I met Taryn and Erin 6 years ago at my new teacher orientation. We were all starting our teaching careers together and I think our names kinda bonded us together for life…Erin, Taryn and Erin! At the time we were 3 young blondes with long hair…and NO ONE could tell us apart! Especially poor Taryn and Erin…since they both teach Math most of our staff STILL can’t tell them apart 6 years later…once I was bald everyone was able to figure out which girl I was! haha
These 2 girls have become such amazing friends over the 6 years. The love, support and genuine care they have for me has truly humbled me on many occasions! I feel very lucky to have them in my life…!! Even Taryn’s Mom Brenda shows such love toward me, and I haven’t met many mom’s like her (she reminds me so much of my own mother its crazy!)
But yesterday was awesome. All of the ladies who came have been my support and by my side for some of my toughest battles and now still sticking around for this little miracle…whom we weren’t sure that we’d even be able to have! I saw these faces at my last baby shower…also my pre-chemo Wine party…my post chemo bash and now again…coming together for me and showering me with love…kinda leaves me speechless. Since my family is very limited I can say I’m very lucky to have all these girls in my life…some are like the sisters I never had and MANY are like the sister-in-laws that you actually like ;) heehee (ps. For the record, I LOVE my sister-in-law…and wished she lived closer!)
Silly games…that made us laugh…
Even games that got us debating about what were good “names”…
And to make the day even MORE special…our little Ava lost her VERY first tooth…tough girl just wiggled it a bit and pulled that sucker out all by herself!! Pull of smiles after…so brave!
But man…babies are in the air…BIG TIME…
Kerri due January 10th, Heather due February 1st, ME and Sam due April 9th
Babies babies babies!!!
And let me tell you…boy were we showered with gifts…baby girl is loved by so many people and she doesn’t even know it. AND I still have a shower that Mom is throwing for me as well…she said she couldn’t NOT have one for me…that just wouldn’t be ok! haha Oh Bernie.
Again…Thanks ladies for yesterday…for EVERYTHING! 8 Weeks until Baby Girl gets here!!
Erin,
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely beautiful sweet girl and so happy. Looks like you had a great time at your shower. I love you and think of you and your family often.
