Ok I’ll admit it…I HATE buying gifts for my husband. He is SOOOO difficult to buy for since he NEVER goes without. If he wants something he gets it himself AS SOON AS HE WANTS IT. There is no such thing has “hey…hold off on that _________ Christmas is coming soon!”
And to make matters worse…he is the biggest CHILD ever. He LOVES Christmas…and presents. He loves being surprised, waking up to find presents under the tree…yes even at 35 years old he wants me to play Santa! So for years I’d wake in the middle of the night, fill his stocking and put presents under the tree all for him…BEFORE Owen was even born! I’m hoping now that he LIKES to do it for Owen…since THIS woman is NOT getting up in the middle of the night to surprise him! haha
BUT this year I got him a gift…and kept it a surprise from him (which is a first…I hate surprises and ALWAYS end up telling him before!) But this year I had Elfie leave Daddy tickets to a Chargers Football Game and a Chargers t-shirt. No we are NOT Chargers fans…Yosh is a new 49ers fan…BUT heading to San Fran wasn’t an option for this season. Yosh and I have both never been to a pro football game and all season we had talked about how cool it would be to go see a pro game. So I tried being sneaky and asking all his friends wives if they’d wanna get tix…thought it would be a fun day out. Well no one thought it was fun (or had other commitments)…so it was us and The Browns. Reunited after our busy lives caught up with us since The Cruise.
We (or should I say THEY) tailgated… BBQ’d some yummy Carne Asada (I ate!)…and had a great time! It amazes me how intense some fans are…
Until we realized as we were walking in that I bought tickets for the Family Section…which means no alcohol!!!
Oops…I didn’t know!!! It never told me that when I was purchasing!!! BUT it all worked out…we were able to move into the section 10ft away and the boozin’ continued!
The Chargers were getting KILLED so we left just as it started drizzling in the 3rd quarter….along with about 1/4 of the rest of the fans! We grabbed some yummy food (yay for Cactus Cantina!) and headed back to the Browns to watch the 49er game…
Sure sign that Yosh had a great time…he “fell asleep” watching the game…heehee.
So Mission Accomplished. The hubs had a great time, with great friends and I surprised him for X-mas! But guess what…he was bummed that his gift was so early…can you believe that….I can NEVER win!
