Lots of women in the area are part of bunco groups…which is when a bunch of ladies alternate houses/hostess’ & get together once a month to eat and play bunco for prizes and money. I remember going to a X-mas Bunco Ornament party a LOOOONNGGG time ago with my friends Jody and Danielle. Since way back then, all my friends are turning into old ladies and are now in “bunco groups”.
I’m NOT a member of a bunco group…I have a bit of a fear of commitment to join…sometimes between work, my own school work, Owen and Yosh’s coaching schedule I can’t commit to one night a month! I know it sounds weird but that’s seriously how I feel about it. BUT my friend Taryn is part of a neighborhood group and whenever she hosts’ or they need an alternate I join along. And man bunco is fun!
Taryn decided to host the 1st Annual Christmas Co-Ed Bunco Night. It was so much fun!!
Taryn set everything up all cute and Christmasy…it was a $15 buy-in but she gave “round prizes” to whomever had the bunco headband at the end of each round. Then once all 4 rounds were played, money went to most wins, most losses, 50/50, most buncos and most baby buncos.

If there were ties in any category there was a roll-off to see who got the cash….

And this couple, Michael & Kerri Patterson (bastards), basically came and robbed the Gerke’s…they won almost every prize and the 2 highest paid categories…
I hope this is a new tradition in the making…the boys were moaning and groaning in the beginning of the night, NOT wanting to play (they wanted to watch the free UFC fight instead)…but after the first round of dices flying around tables, they were more excited to yell out bunco than any of the girls!!! Thanks for a great night of many fun…my ab’s (yes there is a TINY bit of muscle hiding under that coat of jelly) were sore from all the laughing the next day!
