The season is changing in California…which just means that we have to wear light sweaters in the mornings and then its warm again in the afternoon…with the few days of showers in between. hahaha Sorry to all you people that are already in snow, wearing jackets, scarfs and hats…but the weather here in just simply amazing (Almost year-round). I was telling Yosh though…it IS weird how it just “feels” like fall. Even with the hot afternoon temps..there is just a different “feeling” in the air! I like it. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the heat and summertime BUT it’s always nice to have a change of pace. With the season change also comes high school football games…yay. Last year Owen didn’t get to enjoy coming to many games, since his anxiety wouldn’t allow him to calm down with all the noise, crowds, etc. This year Owen was scared at first but as soon as Addi showed up it seemed like Owen had to act like the tough guy to show her the ropes! haha It was cute. He loved the horses and even though the band scared him a bit, he’d still bob his head to the beat and munched on the popcorn we brought from home. Owen and I let Daddy hang out on the field while we sat in the stands with Addi, Tommy & Abby White! It was fun.
This past weekend we ended up getting together with some friends and heading to Oak Glen. I’ve heard about Oak Glen for YEARS now…it seems that a lot of families in the Inland Empire have a “family tradition” to go to Oak Glen in October for the Apple Picking and Pumpkin Patch. I had heard there was a petting zoo and just all kinds of fun stuff for the kids. So us, the Cilderman’s, the Manley’s, the Harp’s and most of the Rowe’s (Jessica was at her 10 year high school reunion so John was playing Super-Mom) all got together and headed to Oak Glen. I was so excited to finally to get experience it…and I will say it was fun…and would have been even MORE fun IF I was able to walk. But the scooter helped me out…that’s a plus.
Owen, Jaxon, Addison, Payton, Ryland, Wyatt & Caroline.
(all the kids minus Brynn & Tyler…the babies)
Owen just adores animals…and being able to pet and feed them…oh gosh he was in heaven! All the kids were. The petting zoo was $5 a person, but I’d say it was money well spent! They had pony rides, but of course Owen and Ryry passed on that…decided watching the other kids was more up there alley (scaredy-cats). And a famous candy shop as well…the line was out the door. My husband thought 4 caramel apples would be good (reminder we are a family of THREE!!!) haha
The funny thing is we didn’t even pick apples or see pumpkins…so I guess that just means we HAVE to go back sometime!!
I didn’t get any pics of me on the scooter at Oak Glen…since I was the one dealing w/ the camera! BUT I have one from the other day at school…and since I told you I’d post pics soon…here is me and the blessed Knee-Walker while “on the job”!!
Take it Easy people!
We LOVE Oak Glen! Next time, you MUST go to Riley's Farm or Los Rios Ranch and get a 5 pound apple pie. No joke! And... there's a really cool kids park called the Old School House. Maybe future playdate?
