Man Cold Weekend

Its been a long hard haul at work…haven’t had a day off since Labor day…so our students are going a bit nuts and so are us teachers.  But thankfully we made it….we made it through the longest stretch of the year.  Veterans day weekend means getting a 4 day weekend….sounds great right!?!? 

Unfortunately this has been what my house as looked like the past 4 days…

Toys and kids everywhere, Daddy either in bed or laying on the couch…

We think Daddy has tonsillitis.  

Thursday night he woke with a fever and called for a sub for Friday.  He slept practically ALL day…and I assumed he would be feeling better by Saturday.  I actually was making fun saying he had the “man cold”…you know he was “dieing!”  But Saturday morning he woke with white spots on his swollen tonsils. I thought strep BUT apparently the doctor at Kaiser said it was just a virus and sent him home. 

So I spent the last few days close to home and trying to keep kids occupied.

I have no clue why I didn’t load up the kids and just go somewhere (other than the park)…being in the house for hours and hours was pretty tough.  I can’t tell you how many times I had to say “Stop” “Owen stop”  “Ella stop whining” “Owen just give it to her” “Owen if I have to say it again…” “No…I said NO!” “Go to Time Out!”  I used to laugh when I heard my girlfriends talk about how their kids would fight non-stop…well…now I TOTALLY understand and I’m no longer laughing.  Owen and Ella are almost 4 years apart and they still bicker and fight like crazy. I’ll admit…its usually Ella’s fault.  She’s at a tough age…always wanting what Owen has…and TOTALLY not good at having patience or sharing! But what toddler is right?!?

Thankfully yesterday late afternoon I got me and Owen out of the house to see Big Hero 6. Mommy/Owen Movie Date.

I love that Owen has finally come around and LOVES the movies…he has come along way from the days of us begging him to go and then him crying and freaking out the whole time.

But even with poor Yosh feeling horrible…and I kick him out of our bed!! haha But his snoring is out of control because of the size of his tonsils. His fever is down but he’s still NOT feeling well at all!! Which is very weird…I call him my cockroach because he rarely gets sick.

This weekend last year we were in a cabin at Rancho Jurupa Park with friends…thankfully we didn’t have big plans for this weekend since Yosh has been so sick. We still have some time before getting back to work…so fingers crossed Daddy starts feeling better and we can actually leave our city to do something!
