Somehow I came across an “event” on facebook for the Irish Festival. I have heard of a few friends going in the years past, but never had the notation to go myself….UNTIL this year. I text Yosh “Hey there is an Irish Festival in Pomona this weekend…if we have nothing going on we should go!”. He responded “Lets do it”. I was shocked. My husband isn’t the crowd loving, event going kinda person…so I was actually kinda excited to bring the kids to a “festival”.
Well all my Irish friends…it was the Goat Fair minus the goats and add about 50 degrees of heat!!! haha American tinkers galore…and a handful of “normal folks” too. haha
Basically they sold all the Americanized St. Patrick’s day stuff…you know green beer, cornbeef sandwiches…don’t all my Irish peeps drink warm green beer..haha silly I know. But they had 2 staged areas, playing some traditional Irish music, food, and booths selling jewelry, clothes, etc. Owen thought the music was too loud…the beers were $17 for a regular sized beer…ummmm yeah. No thanks. We obviously didn’t get to sit and listen to some tunes.
This room was air conditioned…and it was like 90 degrees outside so it was nice to walk through for a bit and cool off at least!
Then we tried to get the kids to take a picture together…bahahaha.
EllaBeanie was having NO part of it!!! Owen was holding her hand to keep her still and that just pissed her off! ugh…girls.
BUT there was a carnival…and Owen was in heaven. The kid LOVES games and rides…
So it wasn’t very Irishy BUT Owen had a GREAT time…and we probably could have enjoyed ourselves a bit more if Owen would have allowed us to sit and listen to some music for a bit (but it was way to loud for him). It gave us something to do…I had never been to the Pomona FairPlex…was a pretty cool place.
