Couldn’t forget Baby Sister too!! Owen gave her high fives and lots of kisses!
(28.6 weeks prego!)

November always seems to be a busy month for us…we somehow ALWAYS end up doing a home improvement project, and this year was no exception. We started working on Baby Girls room…which is actually an addition to our house! We went from a 3 bedroom…to a 4 bedroom house this week (I’ll post about that when the final product is finished…we’re very close BUT still have a few things to get done!)

Thankfully we have the whole week off of work for Thanksgiving…its so awesome and comes at a PERFECT time in the school year. October is a very long month for educators…no holidays which equals no time off. So we are pushing through from Labor day in September until Veterans Day in November…tough to do with crazy high school kids!

We all know that Mom and Dad are retiring and moving away next summer…so before they get their house packed up and sold I decided to let Mom host her last holiday at her house (I took over at my house the past few years purely because of space…those houses are tiny in Southridge!). When I was a kid Mom always hosted Thanksgiving at our house…Dad’s family would all come over…heck I remember sometimes having 25-30 people there. Those were great memories…but things have changed and we don’t get together as a large family anymore.

My childhood home…and I will say I was a little emotional walking in…I know my parents aren’t shipping off yet…but going “home” for the holidays is nice and comforting. And I know I won’t have that peace within for much longer!

IMG_9050Yes those are polar bears…they didn’t have the owls that scare away doves at the time! haha And the bears seem to do the job just fine!

IMG_9053Beautiful table set for 6.5…no need for 2 tables like we did last year
This year was nice…very small…intimate and with all of Owen’s favorite people…
Nana, Granda, Mya and Papa…just us!

But we spent the evening enjoying some time together. Watching Owen play, talk about the future and just relax. It was nice!

Boys watched football while my aunt Catherine, Great Aunt Teresa and Sister Margaret all came over to join us for dessert. The usual suspects! Winking smile

And my lovely little man who would ONLY eat turkey (no mashed potatoes, no corn, no nothing!) HAD to have his share of rum cake (yea just a little and I’m still unsure if it was real rum in there!) and some éclairs! The boy knows how to eat his desserts! haha

So it was a BEAUTIFUL day with family…and ended pretty fun too when Bernie and I headed out for some night-time Black Friday Shopping! teeheehee. So fun!
