The Cutest Leprechaun around!
My little posing child….thank you baby jesus he likes to take pictures for me! His poor lil chin is healing…stitches hangin’ out in some of the pictures.
St. Paddy’s Day is such a fun day to celebrate…especially if you are Irish…and heck…even if your not! I love seeing everyone so excited to drink, eat and be happy on days like these. One of these years I’d love to start a tradition of having an Irish party at our house for Paddy’s day…but yeah…I’ll just keep “trying” to get the motivation to do it! haha One of these days right?!? But I find it a tad funny b/c in Ireland they don’t go completely crazy like us Americans do. I just spoke with my best friend (in Ireland)…and she is heading out to the usual local pub tonight, but she isn’t even sure if its going to be a good night since this is a bank holiday weekend (meaning EVERYONE has Monday off work and school)…so most people will probably wait and go out tomorrow night. haha. On facebook the Irish crowd are wishing the Americans a Happy St. Patricks Day and the Irish a Happy Paddy’s Weekend! haha Mom said when she was young the men would go on the beer the day before Paddy’s day and not finish until the day after…wow such a drinking session! Yosh swears the Irish have 2 livers that enable them to drink like that! haha He’s learning though…
Tonight is one of the BEST nights to go out in America (apart from the night before Thanksgiving). Everyone is dressed up, everyone getting HAMMERED and lots of green! I LOVE it. BUT as a lot of us know…life with a child surely changes the abilities to go out drinking for an evening.
Pictures from Years passed…..2007
2008 @ our townhouse in Homecoming then Roscoe’s
2010 @ Roscoe’s (more here)
2011 @ home while daddy was in Vegas (yummy fry for dinner)
And this year will be another quiet one at home!! My poor father still isn’t feeling great, he’s home from the hospital, but not feeling good. So Mom will be home all weekend catering to him. So we’ve got our Owen…no adult only anything…but that’s ok! Its pouring rain all morning…such a typical Irish SUMMER day! hahaha. Seriously! haha Our friends have invited us over to discuss the excursions that we are wanting to go on while on our Caribbean cruise in June. So a mellow night it is….
While the rest of America was gagging down the Irish meal “cornbeef and cabbage” (which by the way Irish people don’t eat…they eat bacon and cabbage sometimes…cornbeef isn’t a meat you would serve or eat in Ireland)…we enjoyed another “irish meal”…McDonnell’s Chicken Curry, Rice and Chips! Yummmmy~ And made a few Baby Guinness (which are coffee liquor and Bailey’s…pretty good!)
Hope everyone enjoyed themselves!! Slainte!
