2 of my closest friends live in different states. It makes our friendship pretty unique since when we get together, we can sometimes go a little too hard (uh hmm October, Chino Hills, yeah bad).
I was lucky enough to get to Hawaii to see my girl Gabby back in November. It 2was an amazing trip. I was thinking about when I’d try and get to Washington to see my other girl Erika…since I just went to Hawaii and we had some other trips planned I didn’t think I’d get up there anytime soon. UNTIL one day while I was at work I clicked on one of those bait links about cheap airfare. Except this time it wasn’t a sham…I found a flight from Ontario to Seattle for $140…only down side was you had to fly in the month of March. So…I booked it and made it work!
The hubs and kids brought me to Ontario…and I waited for my direct flight to Seattle. I landed…and was COLD. Actually I was freezing my booty off waiting for Erika to get in to pick me up curb side!
It was so great seeing my girl! BUT I didn’t realize that Seattle was 3+ hours away from her house! Why the heck didn’t she remind me that Spokane is only 1.5 hours away….BUT we made the most of our snowy long drive back.
Whenever I’m with Erika we laugh…a LOT. I love being around her and her family. And lately I’ve been on a workout kick. Everyday on my lunch I work out with a small group of co-workers. So the whole Apple Watch “Closing The Rings” thing has got me moving. I love it. So…I made Erika go for a run with me in the FREEZING cold of Washington.
With Erika being so far away it makes me sad that I’m not in her kids life on a day to day bases. And vice versa. My kids don’t know her well and her kids don’t know me well. So when her little man Charlie asks me to play with him I try my damnest to make it happen.
After our run we showered and headed to Spokane for the day. It was great time together. Girls Day.
Apparently there are TWO Waddel locations in Spokane. Erika is special and drove us to the wrong one BUT it did the job. The food was good and we only had 1 drink! Go us acting like responsible adults.
We went to downtown Spokane and walked around. So really BEAUTIFUL sites there.
SO these running art people have a funny story. I found them so funny. So Erika and I thought we were so funny and made some snapchat videos of me being part of this running crowd. haha And I may have really liked the breasts of one of the statues.
And of course we can’t go anywhere without finding ourselves in a bar. We walk into an Irish bar and the owner told us to sit at the bar and that the first drink was on him! HEY…these mama’s still got it!! Hey! lol
And again..we only had 1 drink and then hit the road. More sights, more laughing, more fun! Damn we are funny sometimes.
And when we were going to Spokane I saw this ADORABLE little barn in the middle of no where…I told Erika we had to stop and take a pic with it on the way home. haha We took FOREVER to figure it out where it was. ANd when I spotted it I almost crashed us off the road! lol Another HILARIOUS video was made on snapchat and away we went.
Whenever us girls are together we facetime the one that is not with us. Someday we will all get to go on a momcation together!
So we sat and chatted with Gabby, had a few drinks via facetime, laughed our asses off some more. Oh laughter is great sauce!
Next day up…I skipped the chilly run outside for a AMRAP workout! Erika showered, Lauren napped, Charlie played video games while I push-up’d, burpee’d, clean&press’d, squat jacked, mountain climbed and planked my butt off! lol
More adorable Charlie time before heading to the movies with Erika. We WERE going to see The Shack. Because someone recommended that book on facebook…so Erika read it and I couldn’t get passed page 100. It was NOT the kinda book I usually like…and was having trouble reading it. Its a very Gody, Spiritual book. Yeah…not my thang.
So…we decided to see Fifty Shades Darker instead! haha God…Sex….hmmmmm hahaha
It was great! Movie was GOOD! We both really enjoyed it.
Then a nice family dinner. Erika’s kids are SO well behaved! She makes it look easy.
I loved all the snow everywhere. I told Erika to take a picture of me IN THE SNOW. So i ran over and stood…and sunk. haha
Followed by a quiet, sober night. Watching Cat FIsh and being lazy. It was nice.
Next morning we made the 3.5 hour drive back to Seattle. I felt so bad making her whole family take that long miserable car ride. But I LOVED my long weekend with my bestie. I miss her so much not being in California BUT I know she loves her life in Washington.
Our drive to Seattle was GOREGOUS! The snow was unreal.
My weekend in Washington was great!! Little different than my other 2 trips there…but it was amazing.
When I went in 2012 when Charlie was born…
And again in 2015 when Lauren was born..
ANd this time…for no baby birth…just because and it was awesome! Thanks for Washington. Its been real!
