Celebrating Grandparents

On June 17th my pops turned 58 years old!! Old man huh!  And since my parents are currently here (versus NOT in Ireland) I thought I def wanted to do something for him.  He’s not a man for big parties, so we threw him a mini party here!!

Our mini party consisted of KFC Chicken and potato salad for dinner, followed by presents and cake and ice cream.

I love my dad….and I really love how much he loves my kids.  This man has 8 herniated discs in his neck and back…and still won’t turn Ella down when she asks him to “Hold You”.

Then on June 18th my in-laws celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!!! 50 freaking years!!
I asked my MIL to see some of her wedding pictures…when I was thinking of gifts to possibly get them…and she told me that she didn’t have not one picture from their wedding day.  They eloped to a place about 20 minutes from their home in Fresno and was married by a female Baptist minister.  It was them, the minister and the ministers 2 witnesses, who were strangers to Al & Marilyn. I loved how she told me that she had no pictures…and she was ok with that because in HER mind Al was handsome, she was kinda cute and no pictures can say otherwise. haha

We came together as a family…had some cake and ice cream and loved spending time together.

I’m very proud to say that Yosh and I have such amazing role models in our lives.  Both sets of parents have been married a LONG time and going strong. And they’d be the first to tell us that marriage isn’t a walk in the park.  They know how strong you must be as an individual and how willing you must be to grow together as a couple, rather than grow apart.  I love that my kids also have all their grandparents in their lives whom they adore!!
