I shock myself when I say I have been married for 9 years and with Yosh for almost 13! Isn’t that nuts. I do remember life before him…but it seems unreal to think of that as “my life”. Meeting him at a friends house-warming party was the best thing that happened to me. I didn’t realize it then (because I was kinda dating someone else whom I really liked)…but he was a person that was meant to be in my life forever. He’s taught me so much about life, myself and about love. I’m a lucky girl to have him you know…very lucky!
I wanted to see the 9 years in a huge flashback friday post. haha

Our wedding day June 9, 2006
1 year wedding anniversary spent on a 3 day Ensenada Cruise!
2 year wedding anniversary spent at the river with friends from Ireland and others.
3rd anniversary was very quiet…Owen had arrived 2 months prior. We had dinner at my parents.
4th year we had a romantic dinner at home of Burger Basket after I had spent the day witnessing my bestie give birth to her 3rd child.
5th year we headed to Vegas with some friends for a weekend of partying.
6th anniversary we were on a Western Caribbean Cruise where I found out I was expecting baby #2.
7th anniversary we were back in Vegas with friends for a concert…it was my first time away from Ella and we drank…a lot. #pumpanddump
8th wedding anniversary was a good one too. We were in Liverpool with my cousin and his wifey.
And the big number 9 was spent on an adult anniversary/babymoon getaway to Palm Springs.
…mark my words….the big number 10 is gonna be spent somewhere COOL! I have ideas…and they will DEF involve an airplane! lol
We don’t get as much adult date time as we used too. My mother’s traveling pants puts a stop to all that! hah.
But I wanted to do a “Babymoon” with baby#3. I started researching a few months ago and decided we’d do a joint anniversary/babymoon getaway together. I wanted to do something “cool”, tropical, that involved getting on an airplane! I ALMOST booked Hawaii but something inside stopped me. I know Owen has talked about wanting to go to Hawaii one day, especially since some of our friends are heading there soon too. I ended up NOT going fancy…kept it to 2 nights and I have to say it was plenty. I NEVER thought I’d be one to say it but…we kinda missed our crazy kids! Since I AM knocked up it did make the trip a bit boring but very relaxing. Its funny how when you get a chance to have a full nights sleep, you still can’t. Being able to relax by a pool but always feeling like your forgetting something. Its hard to make yourself relax! haha
But I booked us a nice room at the JW Marriott in Palm Desert…not exactly exotic or involving a plane right BUT it totally did the job!
We ate at the fanciest steakhouse that I have ever eaten at (but that doesn’t say much). Ruth’s Chris Steak House. It was pretty darn rummy!!
The next morning we had a beautiful breakfast before hitting the pool. We lounged ALL day. People watching while sober is kinda fun. But we figured out something wonderful. If you go to a hotel pool and don’t want to be annoyed by people or kids make sure you get seats at the deep end! It was perfect. I bought some rafts and we just hung out.
The waters got old so I had to order myself a pretend cocktail. It was 100 degrees so I justified getting the “slushie” and drinking my calories that day! haha
It was nice being away. Would have been a bit nicer if there was some rum in that pretty drink of mine! haha
The 2nd night we are those lame people that found a local movie theatre and went and saw a movie!!! haha Yeah thats how we do it. “Spy” was pretty hilarous btw…I recommend it…if you like curse words!
And Yosh and I do silly Hallmark traditional or modern yearly gifts. You know…like one year I got him a new knife set because it was metal. This year the traditional gift was wicker and the modern gift was leather….so I went with leather. He got a leather volcom belt (that I have to return because its too small…damnit) but Yosh went traditional…got me some wicker front porch chairs. Clever huh!
Happiest 9 years of my life. Can’t wait to spend forever with this man makin’ memories.
