One tradition that I am proud to say that I have continued since Owen has been born is going to the Claremont Village Halloween Parade.
I have mentioned my BSB group a few times before on this blog. Back in June 2009, when I met these women at a First Time Mom’s Support group, we were strangers who were all anxiety rattled exhausted wives turned moms. We met once a week for 6 weeks and bonded over EVERYTHING from deliveries, breastfeeding, husbands, hormones, formula, etc. we laughed, we cried (a lot) but it was a great 6 weeks. So great that 6 of us continued to be buddies all these years later!
And we started going to the Claremont Village parade with 6 month old babies…
Gosh I remember just GETTING to this darn parade back then being SO hard. Rushing to be ready and out the door, struggling to find parking, crying kids and huge crowds of people. I can feel myself sweating just thinking about it!! But somehow we went back year and year! And I’m proud of us for trying to keep this going! Not all 6 of us kids/moms make it every year BUT we always try!
And this year…
Girls I just realized we didn’t get one with the Mom’s in the pic this year…darnit!!
I feel like this little support group is a constant in my life has a Mom. I met these women after taking on the most amazing title of my life…and we all were on a “First Time Mommy High” together and then down to the “I’m Going To Kill My Child Terrible Two’s” low as well. Yes maybe we only see each other a few times a year BUT KNOWING that there are 5 ladies out there who support me is a amazing feeling!
But our morning at the parade was fun…and for some odd reason I feel like this year was easy. Yeah two kids and all…we weren’t stressing time, or parking or anything actually. It only took 6 years BUT finally got it down! lol
Mommy Of the Year award went to Courtney for this AWESOME transformer costume for RJ
The girls were totally impressed with RJ and his cool costume too…Owen actually wore the truck after the parade he thought it was so cool too! Sorry Owen…Mommy buys costumes…haha
Ella and Owen both loved the parade and seeing all the super cool costumes!! Can’t wait for next year!
