I was officially excepted into the Camping Community this time last year. If you remember, we borrowed a tent, had air mattresses, dealt with baby skunks running around all night, I had to pee in a red solo cup at 2am, etc. I thought we would have camped again a little sooner than now BUT just doesn’t sound exciting with an infant that doesn’t sleep through the night! Ya know?!?
And since last years camping fun, a few of our friends have invested in travel trailers. I wasn’t raised a camper (obviously)…but when you watch your kids play and play, its amazing the childhood memories they’d create in camping trips alone…so the idea of camping does sound appealing….kinda!
SO when our friends, The Browns invited us down to their campsite at Crystal Cove Beach/State Park I thought we’d go down to visit for the day, hang out at the beach…but whadda ya know we ended up staying the night IN their trailer with them!!
Poor Owen is such a shortie…Logan is 3 days younger than Owen and about 3 inches shorter than him too!
Yeah my poor baby girl face planted in the sand RIGHT before this picture! I was shocked she didn’t scream for longer. She had sand in her mouth, eye, ear, everywhere. I totally won Best Mom of the Year award for that one…all for a darn photo-op!
Yes my manual settings failed me here…totally over-exposed this pic way too much! grrrr Still learning all this stuff and sometimes I miss a good moment…practice makes perfect RIGHT?
So after some fun at the beach we got back to the camping site for some dinner and relaxing. It was SO beautiful there.
It’s a 28ft slide-out trailer that sleeps 10 peeps! I was totally impressed and Yosh too…he was on the ipad pricing these bad boys that evening!
But I was soooo nervous about our night with Miss Ella Bean. How would SHE sleep with so many people around? At night she sleeps in her room alone, with a fan on for white noise…someone once told me that second children are heavy sleepers…they lied! My 2nd child is a light sleeper!! I mean I KNEW I wasn’t going to get a good nights sleep BUT thought hell lets give it a try, its still summer break!
Daddy doesn’t know how to use my camera on manual but refuses to switch to auto…therefore I’ll be blurry in every pic he takes….wonderful eh!?! hah
Couldn’t get enough of the view! And after dinner I took ALL the kids on a walk…including Yoshi!
The only downfall of this particular camping site is that there are not firepits. So we made our smores with their propane stove and then used it as a tootsie warmer later that night.
So we survived our first night “camping” with Ella…its still considered camping even if you sleep in a trailer right?!? Or is that glamping?? Either way it was ok…I personally didn’t sleep good BUT its my own fault! lol
A big THANK YOU to Our family/friends the Browns who really took care of us…fed us a yummy dinner & breakfast, provided a fun sleeping experience, and were great company! Thanks guys…I would have never braved camping with Ella with anyone other than you guys!
And on our way home that morning I look down to this little beauty…
Camping is tiresome! lol
(I was very jealous she was already napping and I was exhausted!)
