This is the first year that Owen actually ASKED for a birthday party…AND asked for a CERTAIN theme! I guess it’s a sign that the times are changing…I don’t get to plan the party the way I totally want anymore! haha 
Since Ella arrived 2 months ago I knew we HAD to do something for him…whether Mommy has anxiety issues or not…it wasn’t the year to skip a party (I wouldn’t want him to think that just because a baby came along he doesn’t get to celebrate his birthday!) I had to remember Its not about me…suck up the anxious feelings and get something small together. I swear I have anxiety about hosting parties but I also have anxiety about not being able to invite ALL of our amazing friends to parties. We are blessed to have so many people that care about us and our kids…makes having very little family a bit easier! So the lesser of two evils is to just have Owens closest buddies over…and unfortunately leave some of Mommy and Daddy’s friends off the invite list. Bernie reminds me that our friends all understand that but it still weighs on me.
Owen’s morning started with presents…you know the boring ones from Mom and Dad…haha
Then prepped and got ready for a great day with friends! Owen is OBSESSED with Angry Birds Star Wars. He plays it ALL the time on the ipad. I remember months ago hearing how it was the craze amongst peeps of all ages…NEVER thinking Owen would become one of those crazy little kids. So this party was Angry Birds…it was cute watching him pick out his party décor!

Of course some Bouncer Fun!
Since we were suppose to have nice weather I decided on a bouncer to hopefully keep the kids entertained. Boy it worked…Owen never left the thing other than to get drinks of water and ice. They bounced and played sooooo much…his little legs are going to be sore tomorrow. Owen even got Papa to get in the bouncer!! I will have to give my buddy Gerardo a shout out…his company Bounce It Up Party Rental was awesome. Reasonably priced bouncers and party supplies, great service AND amazing quality of bouncer. All of us parents love our bouncers…and so think of them next time you’re renting for a party!
But it was a VERY mellow day…it felt like a typical Sunday during football season with a few extras! Nothing crazy, there was NO pinterest projects completed for this party…no major planning…just simple, low key and easy! Ella doesn’t allow for me to be able to do much else. Surprise surprise I had to hold her most of the day…which is hard for me…I’m usually the picture taker, present helper, cake preparer…but today I was the baby holder…and had to look to the help of others to fill in for me!

Grandad showed up a bit late…so he didn’t get a pic at the photo station either BUT Yosh caught this pic of him with Ella…and MAN…I just love it.

So thanks again friends and family for making Owen’s day so special! I must now get my sh*t together and “prepare” for the Easter Bunny (one bad thing about having an April baby…Easter kinda gets in the way a bit!). Lucky for Owen we are on spring break next week as well so he’ll get a few more surprises coming his way!
