Disneyland!!!

We love Disneyland….and I’ll admit that yes I am TOTALLY jealous of all my friends with season passes!! I’d love to get them for our family…but just can’t fit those in the family budget as of now!  But thankfully we have some friends that work at Disneyland and are so gracious in signing us in whenever! SO thanks again Steve and Leslie…we appreciate it tons!
The hype about Cars Land was starting to kill me…I’d see everyone post pics on fb and all I thought about was Owen…and how I’d love to see his little eyes light up looking around Radiator Springs. So we got to go to Disneyland and California Adventure last week…and this trip was so fun. Owen totally loved every minute of it…and even remembered some of the rides from our last trip (which was LAST summer!) His memory amazes me!

Cars Land was absolutely amazing!!! It looked like you were seriously INSIDE the movie! The stop light in the middle of the town blinks just like it does in the movie…2 short then 1 long…would have never noticed if Steve didn’t point it out. But the details of the whole place was truly amazing!!

Owen wasn’t tall enough for the Racer Ride…and the Luigi’s Floating tire ride  was like 2 hour wait…so we just watched people ride those rides. Owen got to actually go on Tow-Mater’s ride. He told me at the end of the day that it was his FAVORITE ride. I don’t do spinny rides…so Yosh got to ride with him! Yosh said that Owen was singing the song the whole way through the line…but unfortunately it was on tow-mater’s ride that Yosh lost his phone (not a good day for Yosh!)  Had many friends tell me on fb stories of when they lost phones at Disneyland and how lucky they all were to get them back…but of course…no such luck for poor Yoshi!

I’ve realized that Owen LOVES rides without a story line…you know the “kiddie rides” at Disneyland (Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, Snow White, etc.)…all of them have scary parts…and he does NOT like that. But I’m happy to say that there were NO tears this trip…and only minimal ear-covering (something he does when hes scared or its to loud!). He’s growing up…and its so fun to see the difference one year makes!

We tried getting Owen on Pirates of the Caribbean early in the day…but he remembered it and started crying saying he was scared. So we dropped the issue and decided to try later in the day (after he’s been on a few rides already). We walked to the ride a different route than earlier…and when he asked me the name of the ride I told him it was called Jack’s Ride. While in line he asked me “is this Pirates of the Caribeean” (that’s the way he says Caribbean)…I was thinking how the heck did he know…?!? I didn’t lie to him, told him yes it was Pirates of the Caribbean…and he didn’t freak. He was ok. Right before we got on the little boat for the ride Owen asked “are we going to fall down the water fall?” He freakin’ remembered that there are some dips in the ride…eck…how does this kid have such a good memory?!?  But he sat on my lap and actually liked the ride. I told him the skeletons were just silly and he didn’t seem to mind. He was even singing the “Yo Ho Yo Ho a Pirates Life for Me”…his Granda would be so proud…since its his favorite ride!

We love Disneyland…and we have already formed so many memories there and hope to create more and more as Owen grows up!
