Halloween

Halloween is always a fun filled day at work, school, daycare, etc.  Owen’s school isn’t allowed to wear costumes, but it was crazy sock day or something (lame). At Martha’s she has a little party and does some practice trick-or-treating. Its so cute! And then she sends me pictures like these…

I was dying when Martha sent me the one with Paul, the ghost, answering the door. hahaha How the kids weren’t scared shitless is beyond me! haha

Get home, feed kids and then MAD DASH to get ready to get to the Gerke’s before the sun goes down. I wasn’t TOO worried about getting pictures this year since we got some while camping a few weeks prior. But I asked the 3…smile nice for the camera…and these are what I got.

And the Halloween before Owen was spent like this…

I was pregnant with Owen…we were living in Redlands at the in-laws…and I was a Fairy GodMother-To-Be (for school). Yeah I laid on the couch all evening with our doggies…Ando and Clare. No mad dash, no craziness…we had NO clue what was ahead of us! heehee

And this was the Halloween in 2002…a month before meeting Yosh and THEN my life really changed forever.

Gosh…I love looking down memory lane. Our lives have changed.

But the trick-or-treaters were ready!! And lasted about 2 hours and then we headed home. I’m going to embrace these Halloweens of us only needing to go down a few streets…and them allowing us to go with them. Someday they are NOT going to want us around and will be out all night…oh dear lord! haha

This year our group was a tad bit smaller. Usually Gerke’s cousins come and Taryn’s parents are around. This year Papa John was sick so he stayed home and only Gaga came and passed out candy.

I hate being scared! I hate scary movies. Haunted Houses. everything that makes me uncomfortable. Well we came to a house that the big kids were scared to go up to. Maggie was already over it and sitting in the stroller, Ella was also sitting…so I said “Oh GEEZ kids…I’ll go up”.

Well when I got up there the pretend Freddy Kruger (my WORST nightmare) hissed and moved and I FLIPPED. I almost pee’d my pants, screamed AND straight ditched the kids. haha. It was a mess. I screamed and ran, the kids screamed and ran and that led to Ella screaming in the stroller also terrified. I might have traumatized these kids! haha

But back to the Gerke’s for some candy trading. Addi had some new ortho work so nothing chewy for her. And Ella gave Taryn all her 100grand bars. haha

LOTS of candy. Was a great night! Love that my kids love spending their Halloween with our dear friends.
