Last year I enrolled Ella into our cheer clinic at our high school. The age limit was 5-12…but as a 3 year old I thought she’d be able to handle it. Which she did….after a bit of convincing. So when it ended last year she was SOOOO excited for it to happen again (a year later!). So…for the past 365 days she has asked me when Cheer Camp was going to happen again. Finally the day came…our week long of cheer clinic started the Tuesday after Labor day. 3 days of practice, then cheering in the game on Friday night. And her favorite part of it all…is hanging with her bestie Kendall!
Each day it was themed something. Tuesday was Pink for little girls! And the high school cheer girls were so patient trying to get these little ones.
And when one of the high school girls airdrop you this adorable picture of your girl…and her huge smile…the craziness of the week makes it all worth it.
Day 2 was red white and blue! …and stunts!
Day 3 was Mustang Colors AND routine rehearsals!
Game day was here. I was stressing about this darn huge cheer bow. I was texting veteran dance moms and asking where and how the heck I was suppose to put it in her hair!
And as we arrived we had a weird hot summer rain storm that passed through pretty quickly and left us with a dark gloomy yet beautiful sky!
I was laughing so hard watching the high schoolers try and keep track of these little girls. They were like a litter of kittens. Every time they turned around more of them were trying to escape! haha
Ella was so excited to get to cheer on Kendall’s box. But was cautious since last year she feel off and landed on her private…so yeah…she was moving with caution.
And then the half time show…omg I love watching it. All week they look like a total disaster but somehow they pull it together and perform so good!! Its adorable!
Ella currently tells people that she wants to be Kendall when she grows up…a pretty cheerleader!!! And coming from this jock-mother…I’m ok with that! Whatever she wants to be, I’ll support her…and try and be the best dance/cheer mom that I can be!
