Bon Voyage

I’ve been planning this cruise for over 2 years now…when I was diagnosed with cancer and the thought of me possibly dieing was real I told myself that there were places to go and things I wanted to do and see before it was over.  One of them being a Caribbean Cruise (among other things on my bucket list)…so we are flying to Orlando Florida…rented a mini van and driving to Port Canaveral…and then heading to Cococay Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Marten…returning after 7 nights! Should be awesome..praying I don’t get sea sick…and hoping the booze will cancel out the swaying! haha

I figured a great time to celebrate was 2012…this year was SUCH a huge year in sooo many ways its hard to put into words. Started off in February…when I was declared 2 years cancer free…that was  a HUGE milestone in the “cancer world”…since it proved that my reoccurrence rate was dropping by the second! (Also gave me the clear to try for babies! yay.)  In April I was turning 30 years old. And I’ve said it before but I was so happy to make it this far…happy and healthy! And the 3rd big thing was finishing my Masters Degree. I finished in April and decided to skip flying to Texas for commencement and headed up north to Washington to visit Erika instead.  We debated going in March during spring break OR to wait until June and start our summer off by doing this celebratory cruise…?!?  We invited all our friends along…and unfortunately most couldn’t make it this year…especially our awesome best friends Kyla and Sean.  They were able to join us IF we waited until June…so duh…no brainer…we waited for the later departure date!

I’ve been prepping and packing this week. Tanning, Nails, Eyebrows, EPILATING (ever heard of an epilator?? Mother bought me one…OH GEEEZUS….but I got the bikini line done!) haha.  I packed Owen first…and then me.  Owen and Jedi (his pet fish) are headed to Nana’s for a weekend vacation as well.  So his clothes, in case of emergency meds, kaiser card, snacks, nemo blankie…all ready to go!

It was sad saying goodbye.  Our family…or should I say Bernie and mysel,f cry WHENEVER either of us are leaving on vacation…haha Its kinda funny. We could be leaving for a weekend and tears still appear. So saying goodbye to my little man was extra tough. He kept telling me he loved me and was rushing me out the door so Nana could get back to playing Star Wars with him.  He didn’t mind at all that I was going…which doesn’t make me sad…I know he’s happy!! It would be terrible if he was crying as I was leaving (in that case I’d NEVER go anywhere…done and dusted!)

So we’re packed…ready to rock! See ya’ll later…and you KNOW I’ll have plenty to share about when we return!
