Teachers vs. Seniors Basketball Game – May 4th 6pm
As you can see Yosh participated in the Staff vs Senior basketball game again this year. It was a better turn out than last year, and teachers got to sport their own jerseys instead of trying to squeeze into the high schooler’s jerseys! Owen was hesitant last year to be in the loud gym to watch Daddy…but this year he came around only a few minutes into the game.
Happy to only see him like this for only the first quarter or so…
After awhile he actually got used to the noise and I was so proud of him…I think his anxiety with noise is starting to subside a bit.
Him and Addi were actually out dancing during the game…Owen even won a shirt for shakin’ his booty!! That’s my boy!

Yes we both teach at the high school…Yosh teaches World History and I teach PE and Health…but sometimes to really connect with the students you’ve got to participate in these kinds of activities. Students like to see their teachers outside of the classroom…I think they forget that we are real people just like them. When I run into students at the gym or grocery store they are usually sooooo surprised to see me…shocked that I TOO have to eat real food and like to work out just like them! It makes me laugh. We live in the community in which we work…and I have to say I really like it. I like seeing kids around the neighborhood that we teach…the good ones AND those ones that struggle with what is right and wrong. haha
Anyway…just wanted to give Daddy some blog time…it was fun watching him play basketball…and he seemed to really enjoy himself (until he got home and thinks he might have broken a bone in his foot)…that old age is catching up with Yosh quickly! Ü
