Yosh decided that he wanted to join Sean Brown, Joel, Josh Parker and a few of the guys for a “guys weekend” in Vegas for the opening weekend of March Madness (college basketball for all of your peeps that don’t know that haha). I didn’t mind…he works hard and deserves a weekend away! …UNTIL I realized it was St. Patrick’s Day…What the heck…he left me on MY freakin’ holiday!!! haha But I got over it quickly! ((Note to Yosh: Next year you WON’T be leaving Mama home on St. Paddy’s Day!!!)) But since Daddy was going to be away we packed our weekend with fun stuff to do!!!
St. Paddy’s Day…I had work as usual…but look at what the “Leprechaun’s” brought us on this special day….yes we finally got sod put in the backyard! I knew extra Financial Aid money was good for something! hahaha Pretty exciting as we are prepping for Owen’s 2nd birthday party and this year we actually have a backyard to do it in! yay.
We played out back, admiring our now lawn (but yes we were staying off it)…Owen helped “clean up" and I tried to get a cute pic of his Green shirt…but he’s difficult these days! He wouldn’t even pose with Mama for a cute picture…lil rascal!
So Bernie and I made the closest thing to an Irish breakfast as we could…fried potatoes, fried eggs and turkey bacon. I REALLY wish we were able to get potato waffles and rashers here in the states…but oh well! Makes it nice going home and eating it there! We settled in for the night with a few drinks and watched “The Hangover” while we prayed that Yosh wasn’t acting like that in Vegas as we watched haha
Flashback!!
To think that last year, Yosh & I and Erika & Chuck and a few others gathered at Roscoe’s in Chino to celebrate…and MAN I looked like hell!! It’s a cute place that Chuck and Erika have made a tradition to go there every Paddy’s day…and we just tag along w/ them every year! Its fun! But I had1/2 an inch or less of hair…barely any eyebrows…jeez la weez! And imagine…I thought I looked good that evening too…compared to how I had been feeling and looking! LOL Wow.
St. Paddy’s Day 2010
Next year we’ll have to be back on the Roscoe’s bandwagon and celebrate with our awesome friends! Miss them this year!
Friday I decided to have a few of the wives who’s hubbies were also in Vegas over. Heather and Ryry, Deanna, K-K and Wyatt and Taryn & Addi (who’s hubby was NOT in Vegas) came over for dinner and a massive play date!
Eating, playing, bath-time and then finally bedtime so the Mama’s could sit and relax! Was a very fun night!!! Heather and Ryland spent the night, so it was a nice surprise for Owen when he woke up and was able to have breakfast with Ryry!
…all this fun and the weekend wasn’t even over! My dear friend Gabby’s love is away in Afghanistan on deployment. So I figured it would be a great night to go down and keep her company! First stop was Ronnie’s rookie little league game. Was pretty cool to see those 8-9 year olds play some ball…made me so excited for Owen to be at that level. My little dude decided that climbing at the park was more fun than watching…
Pizza and drinks was on the evenings agenda…once our little lovelies were bathed and in bed…
Thanks for a very fun…mellow night girls! Its been 2 days and I’m still exhausted!…we just don’t recover like we once did my friends…
So Owen and I had a very fun weekend keeping ourselves busy so we didn’t miss Daddy too much!
…and yes I kept the pics my drunken husband was texting to me…but this one has got to be the best!! Glad you had fun babe! I love you.
The backyard looks great! And Owen looks so cute with those green pom poms on his head...hehe. When is your spring break? We should plan a playdate before I POP :)
