Last year we camped with all our closest friends at Lake Perris, it rained and was freezing the whole time but it was SO MUCH FUN!!. Our NYE Camping Trips are EPIC! This year there wasn’t a drop of rain. We wore shorts some days. And was still SO MUCH FUN!
When we arrive…like before we are even fully set up the guys feel the night to start playing their damn games. Drives me NUTS!
And while the guys play, I have these whiny kids to worry about! haha I just wanted a picture of the beautiful sunset!
Yah…Camping can be rough! haha
The night time set up is fun. John has all kinds of lights and glowing fun stuff going on. Ella was loving her new light-up shoes and her spot by the fire!
We filled the days with playing and friends.
We did an awesome Mom and kid bike ride down to the dock/water. We thought it was a good idea at the time…by the ride back with crying tired kids it wasn’t the best. Going down was great…heading back…not so much.
And watching all these kids on the dock and not let any of them fall in….oh Jesus that was hard! haha
After the dreaded bike ride back up, Heather and I took our kids over to another beach to let the kids play. I loved watching my kids at Lake Perris. My mom used to bring me and my brother there during the summer times. And we’d bring our neighbors and friends. Always such great memories from Lake Perris. We were kids…didn’t notice the ghetto or anything. Only BAD memory was when I cut open my foot off the water slides from a glass bottle in the catch pool…wtf.
I remember swimming at this exact beach when I was a kid.
And Heather took some cute pictures of the kids at a lifeguard tower. Playing up there like their Daddy did as a lifeguard for all those years!
Back at camp for lunches. Getting my kids to sit down and eat while we are camping is a task! They are usually having way to much fun with their friends, riding bikes, playing laser tag, throwing balls, climbing tree’s, etc. they aren’t hungry or don’t want to deal with it! haha So I got them all to sit and eat…had to take a pic of it.
I think the #1 game was the Disney Headbands game. The adults and kids played for HOURS!!! And the best was we thought that Ella was just A-MAZ-ING at the game…until we figured out her strategy. Shes a cheater! haha She was looking in the reflection of people’s sunglasses at her own card…haha Cheater but thats borderline genius if you ask me! haha
Twinning with my girl Kyla!
We went on an adult bike ride…well adult except for maggie! Oh it was hilarious.
Anytime someone sat long enough they would have a headband on playing! haha
New Years we also did our traditional BINGO game. Its so fun! And this year Ella was a winner!!
Last years theme was “New Years Around the World”…so every family/trailer got a country and hour. We went from trailer to trailer for country related drinks and apps. It was awesome! This year we opted for every trailer/family to host a minute-to-win-it type games. With winners! There were going to be kid rounds and then adult rounds.
Awesome photo booth Heather!!
We had the games start at around 6pm (after our AWESOME pot luck dinner!)…and timed it for each game to last 45 minutes…that would get us to midnight. Well we learned a few things…a) we needed longer for the game times; b) set up and clean up of the games were thought about; c) playing these games kept up pretty sober; d) next year the adult games need to be drinking games haha.
But the kids absolutely LOVED it!! They were so excited to play each of the games. Adults were pretty excited too…or maybe not! hahaha
Ella didn’t last all night. Think she crashed around 10pm.
More games for adults and kids…
We waited and waited for the ball to drink. Joel and John helped bring in the New Year…you like the size of Heathers GIANT bottle?
Owen was very proud that he was able to stay up until midnight. We gave all the kisses and hugs. I always cry at midnight. Not sure why I get so emotional but I cry every year.
New years day was clean up and heading home day. Last year we didn’t leave until Jan. 2nd…so we played bingo and had fun on New Years day…THIS year it was time to load up and get home!
I really love New Years camping trips! Its the best way for us all to get to be together…have a good time without the stress of house cleaning, hosting, drinking and driving, nothing. Its the best to bring in the New Year with a lot of our best friends!!
