Tonight I wanted to write about something that I’m not exactly proud of BUT I don’t want to forget about it in years to come!
I’ve been having some conflicting emotions about blogging lately…why do I write? What benefit is it to put our lives out there on the web…with some strangers reading about our family and our everyday lives?!? Yeah well thats a long story..maybe we’ll get to that another time. BUT I realized I use this blog to look back on, help my dieing memory and I’m sure its something we’ll use forever!
So we all know that I don’t exactly have the most lady-like mouth…I have been known to use bad language from time to time (I got the “Mother-Trucker” paper plate aware on my college water polo team) BUT since having kids I’m pretty good about not cussing in front of them! I’m definitely not perfect BUT not like I used to be forsure. YOSH on the other hand…yeah I think he forgets what age Owen is at (which is the I’m listening all the time, even when you think I can’t hear you phase!). So the other day my little man dropped a toy and says “ohfuck”. Since I wasn’t sure if I heard him correctly I had him repeat it…he says “oh I mean Oh foowie, like Donald Duck says”. I knew that wasn’t what he said so I finally got it out of him that he said “fuck” but when he said it, it was one word “ohfuck” not “oh fuck”. Sounded so funny!! I could not help but laugh. I know parenting 101 don’t laugh at bad language but it was SO darn funny to hear him say that. But I told him it was bad…even for adults to say it blah blah blah.
Long story short…he said it again…actually 2 more times…and the last time I sent him to time-out (which always makes him cry)…I warned him if he spoke like that in kindergarten next year they would send him to the principal’s office and kick him out of school! Luckily that was all it took….haven’t heard it again since! I know this is just the first of all this kinda stuff but man its so funny but not funny at the same time. Daddy and Mommy are both VERY aware of how we speak now!!!
He’s growing up…its crazy to think he’ll be IN SCHOOL this time next year…learning all kinds of bad habits from other kids (haha because he would NEVER learn it from here at home! haha). And I recently pulled the trigger and cut those curls off!! I loved the shaggy surfer look all summer…but I was over it. He’s been so sick so much the past few months I’m hoping that maybe all the bad yucky germs will stay away since he has less hair now! ;) So strep throat please stay away…or our little man might have to have those tonsils removed! THAT wouldnt’ make for a good xmas
