Cheer Camp

Our high school cheer team put on a “cheer camp/clinic” every year.  The age limit was 5-11years old…but I asked the cheer coach how strict they were on the age restrictions. Ella was ALL about cheer leading…so she thought. They allowed Ella to join..even though she is only 3…which made me a little nervous. When you ask Ella what she is going to be when she grows up she says a cheerleader for the mustangs…so I thought this cheer camp was going to be a slam dunk…weeeelllllll…not so much at first.

Shes at a funny age…shes shy in new places with new people but when she warms up there is no stopping her! haha She knew 1 cheerleader, Kendall…but it took some time before she’d leave my side.  When she wouldn’t leave my side I started realizing why they set a 5 year old age limit…3 might have just been TOO young.

This cheer clinic was INTENSE. 4 days of practice…from 6-8pm Monday through Thursday and then performing at the high school game half-time show on the Friday.  I was exhausted by the end of the week. haha But Ella learned to LOVE it…and LOVES her cheerleader best friends the most.  The first day of practice I was a crazy “cheer mom”…with my camera. haha The rest of the week I only had my iphone.

The pink team were all the 3-5 year olds. These poor cheerleaders had their hands full to try and keep these kiddos busy for 2 hours. They stretched, sang, danced, played games, learned cheers, learned their routine and played.

The big night came…Ella was so excited to perform.  I thought she’d freak out and not do it…shockingly she did GREAT! Only issue we had…she fell off the cheer box during the game…but she was ok! Winking smile

Girl talk before their game warm-up. Little sister NOT amused.

It was the cutest to watch Ella. She cheered…and kept her eye on Kendall the whole time. She tried doing everything she did! I loved watching her so happy!!

Boy Time–school & baseball

I know I chose to have 3 kids…but sometimes I feel like a failure of a parent when it comes to splitting my time between all 3 of them…AND my husband too!  I’m constantly being pulled in a different direction. So anytime I can get some alone time, I take advantage of it.

Owen’s school does a Picnic with Parents event about once a month. Its when we are allowed to bring in lunch and hang with our kid and eat lunch with them.  I love it and hate it too. I love it when I’m there…but sometimes finding coverage and missing my classes is hard too.  But I’ll go…no matter what it takes. On September 9th it was a Picnic with Parents day, Patriot Day for 9/11 AND Grandparents Day.  I didn’t picnic with parents…and some of grandparents day (my parents were in Ireland…and Yosh’s parents weren’t able to make it since my FIL is in the hospital still my MIL can’t leave him).

I laughed OUT loud when I read what Owen wrote about my parents…

And since Owen didn’t have grandparents to attend the game day…his Aunt Missy went!! Very very thankful to have family nearby that were able to make it!! He was so excited to spend time with her.

They played and had a great time!!!!

And the next day was Owen’s first baseball game of the fall season! Its crazy how far we have come in 2 years of playing!! Now we are at kid pitch, base stealing, umpire calling balls and strikes…its “real” baseball!

IMG_3688

It was VERY VERY hot…so I wasn’t able to stay the whole game. Maggie and her naps ruin that!! Ella loves going and playing with all the little sisters. He only got to bat once…its a slower paced game with kids are pitching and catching (Owen was the catcher..he needs some work Winking smile)

Can’t wait to watch him develop even more in the coming months! …and hopefully the weather cools down a good bit so we can watch and ENJOY sitting at his games!

Labor Day

For once we didn’t have plans for Labor Day weekend…and it seemed like all our friends did.  It was actually kinda nice.  Our friends were camping at Newport Dunes, so we went for the day and it was a great time!!

Owen found some activities that he REALLY enjoyed. Kayaking was his favorite. And he was pretty good at it!!

I brought Ella out on the stand up paddle board…it was a good time with her. She is so funny and loved having me all to herself…literally! And Mama got a great arm workout.

Great little beach day with the kiddos!! Happy Labor Day folds.
